Younha Displays Her Versatility in Japan

Singer Younha will host a special show organized by MCountdown and Mnet Japan in Tokyo August 5.

Aside from emceeing the event with the boy band Superjunior, Younha will also serve as the Japanese interpreter for Japanese viewers and perform as a singer.

The organizers of the event chose Younha for her Japanese proficiency and talent at emceeing shows.

Younha debuted as an emcee in April on MBC TV's "Show Music Hub," receiving rave reviews for smoothly hosting the show. She also keeps a diary in Japanese on her Japanese Web site and even received an offer in Japan last year to host a daily radio show as a DJ.

Younha is currently appearing in TV shows with her song "Terms of Love" and recently has released a re-package album containing a remix of that song as well the Korean version of the song "My Lover," which was originally released in Japan.

but i DO know that her voice is AMAZING!
I recently watched her special stage with K.Will... man i got GOOSEBUMPS!

가수 윤하의 애칭은 '오리콘 혜성'이다. 일본에서 활동하면서 오리콘 차트에 이름을 올렸기 때문이다. 일본 음악계에서 활동한 덕분에 그녀는 최근 도쿄에서 열리는 Mnet의 공개방송 진행자로 발탁됐다.

그러면 윤하의 일본어 실력은 어느 정도일까. 윤하의 측근들에 따르면 그녀의 일본어 실력은 거의 네이티브 스피커 수준이다.

일본 팬 홈페이지에 직접 일어로 일기를 쓰고, 지난 해 일본에서 활동할 때는 일일 라디오 DJ를 맡기도 했다. 윤하는 현재 한국외국어대학교 일본어학과 07학번 새내기로 대학의 전공도 일본어이다.

하지만 그녀라고 처음부터 일본어를 잘했던 건 아니다. 2003년 겨울 현지 진출을 앞두고 난생 처음 비행기를 타고 일본에 갔을 때는 말이 서툰 통에 공항 입국 심사를 통과못해 몇시간 동안 발이 묶이기도 했다.

이런 윤하가 일본어를 빠른 시간에 익힐 수 있던 비결은 드라마와 만화를 통항 시청각 학습. 윤하는 "일본 진출 초반 미숙한 일어 실력 때문에 곤란도 적잖이 겪었다"며 "하지만 드라마, 만화를 보며 익힌 단어들을 실수를 겁내지 않고 실생활에서 자주 사용했다"고 밝혔다.

드라마나 만화의 대사에 나오는 '야, 임마' 등의 비어를 상대방에게 천연덕스럽게 쓰는 '사고'도 많이 쳤지만 그녀는 결코 겁을 내거나 주눅들지 않고 더 적극적으로 사용했다고 한다.

윤하는 "잘못된 표현을 쓰면 주변 사람들이 고쳐주고, 또 그런 과정을 수도 없이 반복하는 동안 지금처럼 일본어를 잘할 수 있게 됐다"고 일본 진출 3년만에 원어민에 버금가는 일어 실력을 갖추게 된 비결을 소개했다.

윤하는 이런 일본어 실력을 8월5일 일본 도쿄 국제포럼센터에서 열리는 Mnet 재팬 주최의 'M 카운트다운' 특집 방송에서 진행을 맡아 마음껏 보여줄 예정이다.

한편, 윤하는 '비밀번호 486'에 이어 후속곡 '연애조건'으로 인기에 가속도를 붙여가고 있고, 얼마전 KBS 2TV '뮤직뱅크'에서 상반기 결산 최고의 신인 가수상을 수상하기도 했다.

lol. I never knew about her until yesterday. I was searching Epik High clips on youtube and there one of her special stage with them. So i watched and listened. And then i started searching for more of her songs and perf. and then guess what....She's my idol now. I love it when she sings english.
