I like how Younha returns to former collaborations. I have no idea what forces makes it that way, but it's nice seeing duets over time between same people!

Haha, I have been saying it before but it feels odd to actually hear Younha say herself that she tries to be cool Is those limited editions really limited? Is her taste that she has to have the very special stuff? I wouldn't have guessed it. That's a new curiousity indeed.

^ Yup micasa. Younha got nominated for the Best POP album award. But i think only the people living in Korea are able to vote.
The article says that Younha won the Best new artist award and the most popular POP artist award last year but she was unable to attend the ceremony because of her movie filming.
This year, Kim Dong Ryul & TOY & Lucid Fall, the nominees for best POP album award, also got nominated for Best POP song award. Epik High's Umbrella got nominated for the Best Hip-hop song award.

thanks pro000 for the links. i haven't seen them except for the it's alright, it's so good cut. enjoyed it a lot. both sounded so smooth and it's the most interesting performance i have seen/heard from younha as of the late. but did younha sing the female part originally? or was it another singer? she sounded so in synced w/ bobby kim.

super, is the seoul music awards given by music "critics" or by netizen votes? i don't mean to put korean netizens down but they don't generally make sound choices if you know what i mean... if by critics, then younha has a very good chance of winning. younha's someday album is top-rate even compared to american albums. and i'm really happy that umbrella is also nominated for best hip-hop song. it's my fave younha song for 2008.

Yeah. the bad thing about netizens voice, like democratic choice, is that the most popular and not the "best" is awarded The essential thing there would be discriminating factors as requirements like: is it idols? is it a group? are they young? do they have a lot of PR, music shows and TV shows? Looking at it that way, it's a lot more than music which counts.

But now it's confirmed Tablo is dating (another) girl! I was pretty sure Younha and Tablo were just good friends, but this sort of makes it definite. Besides him saying she is too short basically hehe. Kang Hye Jung was nice in some movie I saw, especially Herb. But she is probably doing much more drama instead now. Anyway, it's probably a very good match!

Korean Music Awards Excludes Idol Singers from Nomination.. Their Argument?

At the announcement of the 2009 Korean Music Awards Nominees, nearly all ‘idol’ singers were noticeably absent from the list of nominees.

At the press conference for the 6th Annual Korean Music Awards—which was held at 10:30 A.M. on February 4 at the Seoul Joong-Gu TaePyong Korea Press Center—both a general outline for the upcoming ceremony and a list of nominees by category were announced.

Nominees in competition for the 2009 Korean Music Awards were selected from a review of songs and albums released domestically starting November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008. Sister’s Barbershop’s ‘Most Ordinary Existence’ was nominated in a total of 5 categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Modern Rock Album and Best Modern Rock Song. Galaxy Express, Verbal Jint, Toy, Kim DongRyul, and W&Whale each received nominations in 4 categories. However, it was difficult to find the names of any of the so-called ‘idol’ singers among them.

Younha is my most fave singer, shes not all for glory like most singers. absolutely lover her voice and piano, cant wait for her movie, but its in japan so i cant watch -.-; ill have to wait for it to come out on dvd. Her latest album Someday is awesome, everytime she releases a new album or single you can see some change in her style of music, usually changes mean bad things but for her its a good thing she really knows how to handle her music, can't wait to see what she has coming this year!

Hi you guys!!! Came across an old recording of Younha and Kim Ji-Eun of Stand up for love in a YDH radio show... It was an absolutely beautiful and powerful performance from both. Their version was way better compared to the recent one by Davinchi, Tayeon and Sunye, to think that audio conditions were not that good. Don't mean to bash anybody, just stating my opinion... But anyway, see for yourselves...

P.S. I'm super loving the It's alright, it's okay performance of bobby kim and younha. I lost count of how many times i've replayed the YT clip. I realize the original featured Tasha. The song is just so cool! I love both version but of course I'm slightly biased for the one with younha.

At least, i think, this is fair to some of the nominees, they produce good music but of their low popularity they dont stand a chance when competing with popular idol groups. well it doesnt matter who win as long as there is good music~
