ok so i've been doing so well for about a week. i've been eating really healthy and having about 1200 calories. and this morning i did pretty well but a couple of hours ago my dad gave me some chips to eat and i became a total pig a ate about a 1000 calories. i've lost enough weight where i can tell my stomach, arms, and legs look slimmer but i don't want to gave it all back because of this stupid mistake. do u guys think if i don't eat anything tomorrow it will help me lose the weight i might gain or have gained? because i heard that all that matters is how many calories we eat in a week or sumthing, i dont no but i no i will feel better if i dont eat 2morrow ahhh!!!!! please help me!!!! i'm like in panic mode right now

I'm not exactly a big expert, but I don't think starving is the answer.
I don't think starving ever is the answer.
Just eat healthy tomorrow and exercise.

it's only 1,000 calories; that's nothing. just forget about it and keep going like you did before.

just because you're on a diet doesn't mean it's the end of the world if you break for occasionally. and starving is absolutely not the answer. depriving your body of food and nutrients basically tells it to go into fat storage mode because it thinks your body's going to need to store more energy for emergencies - probably not something you want.

just keep eating reguarly and exercising regularly, perhaps an extra hour of running to compensate. if you're gonna eat poorly, work out more rather than eating less. food = calories = energy <--- make use of it

If you starve yourself your body might hold onto more of those 1000 calories than if you were to eat healthy and exercise it off. Just keep going. You're not going to gain like 5kg from it.

Starving yourself will only make your body start storing fat and breaking down your muscle mass. The absolute best way of dieting is to eat small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism high while, of course, exercising regularly. And people do often break their diets occasionally, but even if you do, it's not the end of the world. Just start dieting again as you normally would.

Don't starve!!...It'll make everything even worse [yo-yo effect, so you'll end up weighing more than you used to weigh.]

1000 calories aren't thaaat bad. As long you don't do it everyday...
You have to forgive yourself, that's an important dieting-rule ;D

LOL its kinda funny how you react instead of just thinking clearly,
just exercise more the next day, or what my gym teacher said, if you're on a diet
and you fall into temptation, just eat more fruits. It'll make you feel better.

Exercise and get back on track.

Don't starve yourself D: ! You'll only hurt yourself this way (also if you do that, the next time you eat, your body tend to absorb more sugar and fat this way >.>;;).

You've got a bit of an overreaction there. Just exercise it off and eat healthy again. =_=

just like everyone said the best thing to do is exercise more and eat fruits
starving yourself is the WORST thing you can do
because when you eat again - your body will hold onto more fat
and it just DESTROYS your body TT;

starving yourself is not good
use this time as a lesson so that next time your dad hands you a bag of potato chips, you can remind yourself, "oh gosh, remember what happened last time?"

just exercise and eat healthy tomorrow smile.gif

>_> Yeup. Constraining yourself that much is not healthy and worse, it will make you miserable..eventually (I use to have a eating disorder so I know =/). Don't freak out. Just exercise, lol.

There are a lot of ways to lose weight in a healthy matter.
Just because you ate a bag of chips (1000+ calories worth), doesn't meant you're going to suddenly gain everything back.
Skipping out on food makes you gain more weight (because your body tries to store the fat in case you don't feed yourself again).
I suggest you go take a 30 minute walk (speed walking) or take a jog.

I think the reason why you caved in and totally binged on those bags of chips was because there was no moderation.
Reward yourself every now and then. Don't try to cut down on all junk foods cold turkey because sooner or later, you're going to binge on that food if you do cave in one way or another. A way to prevent that is to eat in moderation (IE: if your weakness is chocolate, have a chocolate covered health bar or whatever every other day to reward yourself).

I suggest you exercise while dieting for a more effective result.
