I was just wondering if any of the stores in LA are still selling the Sky IM-U160. I know Korea comes out with new phones like.. every week (-__-wink.gif but I'm really diggin that phone. :]

Can someone tell me if they still have it, and how much is it currently WITHOUT a contract. My contract for Verizon hasn't expired soo whatever.

It'd be great if there was someone who could buy it for me too, LOL, since I live in norcal. :[

Korean phones are very hard to get, if not impossible. Only very few stores sell Korean phones in LA since Verizon Wireless makes it illegal to use phones from outside of their network. Plus, the IM-U160 has been out for over a year now so they don't sell the phone anymore.

I have IM-U160 and I might sell it if someone wants to buy it, but it's very very expensive. Korean cell phone stores sell cell phones without contracts for $600, 700 dollars. If you can afford it, I'd be willing to sell you my phone for $500 (it's in like new condition with the box and everything).

Oh, I can afford that right now, but my parents told me to save my money for shopping in Korea too :[
If I buy it now, they will DISOWN me hahahaha. T__T

If you still have it when I get more money, I'll contact you again :]
I just read your post on the cons about getting that phone :[

Thank you :]
I might be going to LA before I leave for Korea, so hopefully I'll have enough money by then to just get a new phone :]

I want to do that, but I'm scared of speaking the the salespeople haha. :[
My Korean is soooo bad, it's embarassing :[
And my mom is always too busy to help me, and if she knew I was buying a new phone, she wouldn't do it anyways. Ahhh it's so complicated hahaha

are their phones unlocked?
I'm too scared to go over to one of their stores (even though it's like 15 minutes from my place) and ask...I don't know any Korean!

If you're getting a new contract, they'll be overly enthusiastic and help you out even if you can't speak Korean. If you buy a phone without a contract, they'll probably be less interested. Their phones are not unlocked for GSM -- it's all CDMA (Verizon Wireless only).

Their Korean phones are used with Verizon Wireless -- I wouldn't really call it unlocked though. Hacked sounds more accurate lol
