There's is constant see saw between looks and personality.
If we could, we would like as much of both as possible.

Both are equally important. I don't see how you can enjoy being with someone you're not attracted to. Eye candy doesn't last forever, cause it loses flavor overtime.

from personal experience, my bf & i have been going out for almost a year.. (year this month) .. and as good-looking and cute he is.. body+face and all... his personality keeps me going, really it does! i mean i see the same face and the same body every week but his(+my) personality really helps our relationship grow... it brings us to laugh, smile, grieve, etc. yaknow?! so i think.. looks always starts you off but personality keeps you till the end~~

the 53 to 47 percentage is a little random isn't it?

looks can come and go, and if the person is still the same, i would still love them.

i mean, i always picture it as something like this,

if you only like a guy because of his hair, and all of a sudden he shaves his head, would you still love him?

then again,

if you loved the same guy for his personality, he could shave his head, and you could still love him,
go up to him, and sign his bald head or color him a mohawk. haha.

i'd much rather have fun than have looks.

47% was too much of a big percentage.
Doesn't really show one outweighing the other in a dramatic way.

If they aren't well kept, then I'd have issues with their cleanliness and how much they care about anything if they can't keep up with their appearance (hygiene, is most applied here).
If they have a bad personality, then I wouldn't be very attracted to them.

Then again, if they're someone I can spend the longest time just talking to about anything, I think that's nice.
So I guess personality over looks... but not by much (... to a certain extent- depends on the situation)

Looks catches my attention, but personality holds my attention.
Like, I knew this guy who was really good looking, but once I started to get to know him he's really creepy and weird.
So I'm just like get away dude you're creeping me out, I don't care how good looking you are.
And beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think a nice//good personality makes a beautiful person.

Frankly if I don't find them attractive I won't bother to learn more about them in the first place. It's not like I go "Hrm she's 47% good looking, lets see if her personality is 53% good..."

I don't understand why people must think we can't have both personality and physical attraction in a relationship.

damn i know some good lookin' people .. but their personality is like CRAP and they just look less and less attractive each day.
