Help! Photo Editing/resizing Program what programs to use?

hi! im trying to print some entree' pictures for my parents' restaurant so they can post it on the walls/door. i already took the pictures from my digital camera so now i just need to put the name of the entree on the pictures. BUT, i dont kno much about computer softwares and so i was wondering, if i wanted to put some text ON the photos, what program would i use besides Paint or Word ?

just use photoshop, make your food look nicer too, if you do retouching

as other have mentioned photoshop is the standard however unless your willing to pay for quite an expensive product (or get a cracked version) ill recommend Gimp. Gimp sports a user interface that looks relatively identical to Photoshop, it also has most of the functionalities included in photoshop... and considering that you will most likely going to do simple edits, resize + crop, it will more than satisfy your needs. Best of all Gimp is free and avaliable for both Mac and Windows

ahahs...how many ppl do pay for the photoshop they get? i've supplied it to over 50 people....(cracked) ahahs

you can use photoshop but it takes a while for it to open :\
if you just want to do it quick, open up paint and you're good!

Photoshop isn't always too user friendly at first. It's more of a program for if you're advanced in designs. Don't get such an expensive program if all you're going is editing photos and what not. Paint Shop Pro is a good option for that though.

i use ViewPro or Photoshop.
ViewPro is 10x more simpler than photoshop, but iuno if you can google it.
