Man, those turn out to be pretty good! I should try this before school starts again.
I'm currently semi hiatus at the moment due to school.
*still pm me please, although it might take awhile to reply!

Oh I knew it from Yakitate Japan!
I thought it was only for bread. May try to bake some cakes later.

I tried baking a cake with my rice cooker yesterday. The bottom of the cake was burnt, but the rest of the cake turned out nice and soft. I was idiot for holding on to the cook switch, (that burnt the bottom). I have one of those cheapo rice cookers, so it doesnt have a bake function.

When I put my uncooked cake in, a few minutes later, the cook switch jumped and went to keep warm. I thought the cake wasnt going to cook, So i pushed the cook switch and held onto it. I regreted it later when my my cake turned out burnt in the sides and bottom.

Nevertheless, I will be baking cakes in the rice cooker from now on. HEhe

I tried it this afternoon and it turned out well. Though I pressed the 'cook' button about 5 times because I was worried that my cake wasn't cooked yet rolleyes.gif
The cake was good too- not to dry (even though I pressed the button 5x), not to runny. The cake has a small bump in the middle but it was alright. I also buttered the rice cooker bowl so the cake slid out easily when I flipped it over.
I took some pictures to show you guys.

The best part was that the cake was light and fluffy. There were no overcooked/burnt parts.

I have been heard about this before but I never try it.
Your cake is look good!! It is so cute.
If I try to do this, I hope it looks good too. ^^

Do you use a pressurized rice cooker or just an electric cooker?

I think a pressurized rice cooker, but maybe it doesn't matter.

my mom baked a cake for me once.
she said that she learned from the ladies at her workplace. x]

we used an electric rice cooker, so both can work.

I tried twice (pics will not be posted because my webcam kind of sucks.. haha) and the first time, I "greased the sides"... that didn't turn out so well because the cake was somewhat burnt and the middle wasn't done yet.

If you have a non-stick rice cooker, don't bother greasing it. It'll slide right out with no complications biggrin.gif
I stopped believing.

I'm messing with it right now, I'll post up the results later. I'm trying a peanut butter cake since I don't have vanilla right now.
