Sometimes, when I have to dance or sing for performances or something, I don't want them to see.
I've seen my friends just dance in front of their parents to show them for fun, but I can't do that at all =/
It's not like I'm not close to them or anything, I'm just shy in front of them even thought they're my parents.

But yeah, I get shy too when I have to do things in front of them. Maybe it's because my mom's a way harsher critic than anybody else I know.

If I'd have to sing in front of my parents, I'd sing like a cow on purpose (Master P)... I like to look ridiculous in front of them... HAHAHA! My dad usually goes like "Son, you f*cking s*ck..." - "oOOOH YEeah..."
But in front of other people WITH my parents included in the crowd, then I would have no choice but to look talented... It happened twice (that's all I remember...) when I was performing in the circus and piano party ... "That's my son right there!!!" - "Go to hell! Dad! Yeeeh haaah!"
Whenever I'm just with my dad, we're like two worst enemies... but in public, we're like two best allies...

Yeah, I am. Not so much for performing, because they know how well I can play since they have heard me so much. But usually when they are around, I am much more quiet socially. I really wish it wasn't the case. It gets in the way of things.

Some people I have talked to have said that they are shy in front of their parents when performing because they have high expectations of what they can do. But I am more shy in front of strangers, because that means that I need to give a good first impression, and things like that can't be done over.

my parents see me dance at my dance recital.. but I never dance in front of them just for the heck of it

plus; they used to make me 'perform' in front of all their friends when I was a little (and foolish) girl >< now every time I meet those friends, they say "do you remember that time when you danced in front of everyone?" and I'm like "...suuuureee... I totalllllyy remember."
basically when I turned 10 I started to rebel against my parents making me perform XD
