What im trying to say is, when colleges are choosing students, do they look at what hs they go to? Casue i go to one of the best if not the best high schools in the city and its like #15 in the whole country so does that help me if i get a lower avrg than some1 who went to a reg hs, or do they look at it the same way?

Simply put yes, but there are some catches.

But a "C" average at a "top" school will not put you ahead of an "A" student at a lesser school.

But being a "B+" student may look more attractive at your school than let's say being an "A-" student at a lesser school.

But colleges like to see that you excelled in your own environment. Also they do not put too much more weight at an AP course at one school to another. They know that AP courses have to get and maintain a high level of rigor that is comparable through all high schools.

I don't think it makes a huge difference, but if like the GPA is the only difference between two people, and it's a small difference, it might make an impact on the decision on who to admit.

Also, if a certain college favors the school, they might let in more people from that school as say another school.

YES.
ask ur college counselor
i was worried about this too b/c my school is freakin hard
but for the good high schools most ivys and such KNOW the school so they judge holistically
for example, the average gpa of ppl ACCEPTED from my school into harvard is 3.56.. no joke

It does depend. Look up the general weighings of each college on sparknotes.

^yea it was suppose to.. i dunno b.tech is getting worst..

and it really depends on many things like your SATs, how challenging your classes are and stuff like that. If you have a bad average, it will not matter much that you go to a good school
We must have misplaced the scene where love conquers all.
It conquers ALL.
