My birthday is coming up this week and I’m looking forward for a new camera. My current one is quite old and the picture quality is poor.
The big features I'm looking for in a camera are:

-great picture quality
-7~10 mega pixels would be fine
-quick shutter (sometimes I take a quick picture, but I’m took quick and then I move too early so the pic ends up blurry)
-anti blur (like motion or shaky hands)
-can take sharp pics even in a not so bright area
-slim, I tend to put my camera in my pocket a lot
-nice screen

Any other nice features will be great. I had my eye on the Sony cyber shot because it looked nice and well esp. with the touch screen, but my friend's mom said it isn't so well and the battery life is horrible. And then I had to consider buying a new memory card because it uses the memory card duo thing that Sony makes.

I heard Nikon is the best, but then Canon seems to do the job done just as well.
Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Canon PowerShot SD790 IS

Canon PowerShot SD770 IS

Nikon Coolpix s600

Nikon Coolpix s550

Nikon Coolpix s52

Thank You!

I just bought the SD790 IS last week, and so far it's been AWESOME!! The quality of the pictures are some of the best for a point-and-shoot camera. My only grime on the SD790 IS is that the buttons can be sort of hard to press (if you're a girl with nails). I originally intended on getting the SD770 IS because it's a bit more compact, but the BF made me get the 790. =[ I've heard that the 790 is one of the top 5 point-and-shoot cameras out right now, so yeah. If you're going with a point-and-shoot, I'd recommend getting a Canon, and for a DSLR either Canon or Nikon.

Out of the choices you listened I would go for the SD 770 IS for two reasons:

1.)The conviniency/accuracy of having a viewfinder (saves battery life, very good when your outdoors with too much lighting)
2.)Low on pixel count (7-8 mega pixel is the most you should ever have for a 7mm by 4mm sensor size camera) Anymore more and it'll hinder the quality of the camera itself.

Stay away from anything with an inverted lens like the coolpix s52. The smaller the lens, the harder it is for light to accuretely hit the sensor and have the images rendered. Unless you don't care for the quality in low light, stay away from a camera thats too small.

With that said, good luck with your buy!

I went through a lot of cameras and I must say the SD is the top choice for a point-shoot camera.
