I randomly found this on a profile on the internet and thought I'd like to share it, because it really made me sad and think.

QUOTE
I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.

Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.

Thoughts?

That made me sad.

Why can't people be more accepting? Oh, this story brings back a memory of a local news when a gay guy was beaten by the cops and was not called attention from the nurses immediately after a while. Something like that. Ah, people these days.. *sigh*

It also reminds me of that Day of Silence thing too. That was awesome, I participated in that.

I actually used to be quite homophobic, but I've realized that everyone deserves a chance, whether you are gay or of another ethnic background. I am no longer homophobic, nor do I mind them at all. It's just preference, but that dude that's having sex with cars.. now that's disgusting.

It's incredibly sad and disgusting, but unfortunately some people will never change their bigotted ways.

Thank you for posting this.

Some of the people on that list are sad. Others are stupid.
I'm of the opinion "if you don't like your situation, change it"
and if people don't accept you, then force them too.
honestly... you're not half as special as you think you are.

Okay, well if the stereotype for a position stops you from living your dream (granted your dream is being a phys ed teacher) then... you don't deserve that position.

I believe that it is unfair for homosexual people to be treated like that. Personally, I believe in individualism and that everyone should have an equal chance to be themselves.

I do not believe that homosexual people are superior and should be treated as such, but nor do I think that heterosexual people are in any way above others neither.

Homophobia is nothing to be against. Some people are born scared of things, some people were raised in different cultures and cannot accept something so new so fast. It's just that some of the cases posted were beyond just homophobia, it was just plain mean immature.

Homophobia is a phobia. And people who are using 'homophobia' as an excuse to be mean are just mean people.
oh, it's you.

That sucks because you're a transsexual you don't really get hired, and end up as a prostitute :[ that's not how woman are supposed to be treated!! Well even though they were men before, but still! >__< They did transsexual now, now they're a woman >__<;;

The love another male part telling it to the Christian Family reminds me of the movie, Saved. o.o but he ends up going to this place <__<
I know a few lesbian friends of mine who got kicked out from their family who are Christians, it sucks :[ but they are doing fine staying
independent and alone ^__^

The things about kicking their lesbian/gay daughter/son or removing them off the family tree is because they don't want to get rumored and say bad things about them which is sad :[

I don't know how I will accept my daughter is she was lesbian or if my son was gay. I mean I support gay/lesbian dating, but not marriage >__<;; I won't mind if my children were bisexual, but not gay/lesbian. And of course I won't hate them for what they have become or kick them out!! >__< I'll try to help them out like if they really want to become this, like they are really ready for this. If they become this lesbian/gay, I can't stop them you know? Even though I'm a Christian, we all makes mistakes in our lives and live with our sins everyday o.o we make sins everyday <__<;; but we still pray to God for forgiveness 0.0

"Perhaps we haven't become big rockstars because of this. But that doesn't interest us.
We're coming from the underground, we're not mainstream.
We do what we wanna do.
If that's only possible in the underground then we'd like the underground to be our home. It's good like that."

If she really is your best friend, she would learn to accept that and that fact wont change your friendship one bit

This one made me quite sad. Just because you're not straight doesn't mean you don't deserve an equal chance at life.

That touched me the most.
Gosh, everyone's the same inside.
Everyone should be treated equally.
We have feelings, and so do they. :/

How ignorant. You can't just change your sexual orientation. Nor should you have to just because some people in this world refuse to accept it.

why can't the society just accept it?

they frown upon this kind of act, but it's not ppl's faults if they like the same gender.
