Can You Recommend A Good Book? Please? =P

The books that I have liked are of different varieties so I don't exactly know what type of genre I like the most. Hrmm...I do remember that a few years ago, I used to LOVE the Series of Unfortunate Events like, crazily. That was probably the only series of books that I ever really enjoyed.
I'd really, really appreciate it if you could give me a recommendation of a book you think I might like and a short summary to it?
Mods, delete this if it's not allowed...x.x
Oh, and in case you need to know, I'm 14. So the reading level of the book should just be around high school level...I guess? Hahaha XD

Haha, so does my friend. XD She's talked to me about it for hours on end....=OO
I'm not too sure if I'd enjoy that...It seems like one of those books that I'd enjoy the movie of, but possibly not the book series. Kind of like, Harry Potter for me. X.x But maybe I'll still try to give Twilight a chance. Thank you! =]

even though it's an EXCELLENT series, it's definitely not the next harry potter as people have been calling it. it doesn't really appeal to as wide an audience as harry potter. caution though...it gets really sappy at some parts and sometimes the love between the two main characters becomes way too epic and surreal to be believable. it worked for me since i'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. i guess it might work for you since you're a little bit younger than me and perhaps more impressionable.
i kind of get what you're saying about harry potter being a series that you'd rather watch the movie of than the book [although the books are just like 2509433464694586 times better than the movies], but twilight imo is definitely not one of those kinds of series. i feel like the book creates these wayyy too surreal kinds of people that would just not be acted out well enough in a movie. the author sets these really really high bars for the characters not only physical looking wise but emotionally and mentally wise as well. this isn't to say that i'm not somewhat excited for the movie...i just don't expect too much from it.
if you haven't read the entire harry potter series, you should really give the series another shot. the series is amazing. i feel like the series gets better [for the most part] with each book.

I also liked Tamora Pierce's books... they're usually about a strong willed female. Her "wild magic" series is pretty good.

or...you could try classics like Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and Of Mice and Men.
=) they're really good, but a lot of classics I have to force myself to read the dull beginning, because once that's gone the book is a masterpiece.

The next series on my list is "Percy Jackson and the Olympians". Basically, it's a Harry-Potter-like series with Greek mythology. Don't let my crappy description turns you off! I swear it's much more enjoyable than Harry Potter, it's hard not to compare teen series to each other
And if you enjoy "Life is a series of Unfortunate events" (I luv the movie), I would like to recommend another series named "The Grímm Sisters". It's based on fairy tales with some amusing twists and a bit of detective elements thrown in for the fun. Only that I'm dying for the 7th books. Yes, that sounds like a lot but each book is only around 250 pages or so. It's children series, anyway
For non-series books, I'd recommend "The Blue Girl" by Charlies de Lint, "You don't know me" by David Klass and "The Truth about Forever" by Sarah Dessen.
"Mess and Mend
Lost and Found
Change and Change again."

Since, I've lately been on a Great Classics binge, I'd list some worth meandering through:
"Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo. There's no way to really apply some synopsis as even the abridged versions fall in giving liberty to such a stroke of genius. Wouldn't mind throwing in "Hunchback of Notre-Dame" as well; those books are however, as most are, bricks.
And if you haven't done so already, check out some of Gail Carson Levine's books. Some of them really are intended for younger audiences re: itty bitty kids, but they're always so very refreshing.
And "Jane Eyre". I've got a pinch that you'd like that.

Taking place in the 2010s, the book charts a war against the undead from global pandemic to mass panic, and then to an armed struggle to reclaim the planet. Rather than a grand overview or a single perspective, World War Z is instead a collection of individual accounts, each revealing an aspect of the larger plot and simultaneously presenting a very personal tale. These different accounts take the form of interviews between the author and the characters.
