So I basically found out that UCI has a global cultures major which i'm terribly excited about. USC was my first choice for transferring but then i remembered it's a Private school and i really don't have that kind of money.
So how hard is it to get into UCI? How competitve is it to get into this school? I've been talking to a professor in the Global Cultures department and she said that there really is no minimum GPA for the school or the major....i don't believe that lol, so what is the average GPA for UCI?
Also, is it true that it's like 85% asian? like are they any peeps like me running around hahahahaha....not that it's a problem lol.
I've never been to Irvine....how is it there? I'm from FL, so i was wonderin' is there a beach around lol? (sorry, that has nothing to do with the topic lol)
But anyway, is it better to apply for TAG? I heard that's it's a guaranteed (god i feel like i can't spell today) admission form. Have any of you been accepted by doing that? I'm expecting to double major..should i apply for international relations or Global cultures?
Also, are there any other good UC's besides UCLA for International Relations/Global Studies/Global Cultures?

Hi =)
getting into UCI is not too hard. Im a uci student myself.
last year.. incoming freshman's gpa is around 3.8?
and yes asians are everywhere. they're like the majority lol. but i dont think its soo much like you said 85% xD its more like 60% lol
Irvine is really clean. love it there. hehe
and theres this one good and popular thing about Irvine, its that there're at least 3 beaches around haha.

Getting into UCI isn't hard but since you're a global cultures major it should be even easier since most UCI students are bio/chem/engineering majors.
And yes, it's true UCI is full of asians, you won't go anywhere without seeing an asian person. To me, it seems like 90% of the student population is asian. The campus is really nice, really clean but you'll definitely need a car or a bike to get around because there isn't much to do. It's a commuter school. The beach is fairly close, there's fashion island nearby where you can shop. Overall Irvine is nicely situated and it has a nice campus.
As for applying for TAG, you don't need to since most people get in without it but you could just in case. Unless you plan to transfer to UCLA or UC Berkeley, then I'd recommend you do. I think UC Davis has a good global studies/international relations, UC Berkeley and UCLA definitely do.
