Why Do You Appreciate Your Parents? ^__^

They drive me CRAZY sometimes, to the point where I (not very seriously) consider running away for a day.
But I love 'em XD
1) My mom gets mad so easily but she just blows it off later. =_=; That's a good thing most of the time. lol
2) She worries a lot over me. This gets pretty annoying quickly, but I'd much prefer this than her not caring.
3) I've done a lot of bad things during "the phase". She yells at me for about a minute, making me feel like scum, then forgives me after quoting things from the Bible. My dad just tells me "Don't do it again, okay?" then drops it.
4) I've NEVER gotten in trouble for my horrible grades. They just look at me with a disappointed face and say, "Do you have trouble understanding this stuff or do you not try?", and that's all the motivation I need before I run to my room to study vigorously. I'm especially grateful for this because all of my Asian friends talk about how they're grounded until they raise their grades to A's.
What makes you appreciate your parents? Beside the obvious, like taking care of you.
edit
Heh...from my list it looks like I appreciate my parents only because they're lenient.
I already love my parents, these things just make me appreciate them more ^^;

They always trying to help me to achieve my dreams, they supports me (and it's often hard, believe me).
They sacrifice a lot for me and they always trying to give me everything, I know they're doing their best that's why I can proudly say that I'm their daughter and that I love them.

Pretty much for raising me up and teaching me how to be the right person and not go the wrong way in life.

They take me to where I want to.
They protect me.
They let my choose my own path but they are always there when I lose my way.
But most importantly, they show me what love is.

I don't get along with my parents; I'm usually pushed to the brink to do things I wouldn't fare on my own. I love my parents for not being my best friend, but instead showing me the ropes of life. (: I think they did a great job.

- They work really hard to raise me.
- Even though I've done something wrong, they still forgive me. (Sometimes it takes days, lol)
- They gave me life.
- They make sure I'm safe.
- They make me happy when I'm sad.
- They taught me to not be so naive.

- they work hard to feed, cloth us, for years and years, but never complain
- they scream and hit us when we were lazy to study, but i understand now thats because they care. if not, i won't be where i am right now.
- when i was little, because i'm at home and my older siblings have gone to colleges, i can see what they cant. i see that our parents, even when they have no money, they are sick, they still find out ways to give money to my older sisters and brothers when they ask for it. they sold things that are precious to them so my sis and bros can study well.
- they are the one who truly care whether i succeed or no, whather i'm sick or not.
- they still took care of us now even when my bros and sis are married.
- there's a lot of things that i know they want to do, but never got the chance to do it because they have us.
manymany more! i cannot bear to write anymore. ahhhhhhh... this thread is... T____T
and theres memories too precious to me i dont want to share it just with anyone

my mommy would help me.
(:
My mom would dial the cops, my dad would chlorofoam her; and we'd co-op and smuggle her and the aforementioned dead body in the middle of the night.

The point is, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't even be here today. They make me appreciate life a lot more

They gave me life.
They moved to America to give me and my brother more opportunities.
They teach me life lessons.
They work hard and always try to give me what they couldn't have growing up.
They love me unconditionally xDD
