Yeah ... Pre-med is basically the same everywhere.
Maybe go to a school with a strong science program?
And remember, if you go to an undergraduate school that's host to a good medical program, like Hopkins, Harvard, UW, you'll generally have more competition. You'll have uber smart people competing against more uber smart people.

The program is called PLME; you should definitely google it or something. I'm not 100% sure about PLME things, this really is all second hand info that I hear about it. Once you get into PLME, you are automatically accepted into Brown's med school (i.e. no MCATs!!...i think...), and rather than spending 8 years (4 undergrad, 4 med school), you can finish in 7, I believe.
It's definitely worth checking out.

From what I know, Washington University at St. Louis has a pretty good premed program. Of course, there's Johns Hopkins.... their med school is incredibly hard to get into. I read on their forum that the majority of their med students attended undergrad at JHU as well. What joonage said is very true. It's definitely a lot harder to get good grades at more competitive universities. And to get into good med school, you need to have good grades. That's why some people choose to attend a slightly easier undergrad school so they'd have good grades when they apply to grad school.

PLME is so frekin' hard to get into man. I gave up on it. lol
I'm applying to Boston University's 7 year program. Still hard as hell, but easier than PLME.
Remember for those combined degree/early acceptance programs are hard as well. Again, you're competing against the best of the best.
And most programs require a minimum GPA throughout your undergraduate. Also, remember that most require a MINIMUM MCAT score. They just don't like publicizing that fact often. So, if you miss up on your MCATs, you're pretty much out of luck.

For the schools on this list. Do you have to apply for the programs when you apply for the schools? Or do you just apply for the schools and take it on from there when you get in?

But, honestly, I don't think one should really go to Drexel. Not bashing its reputation, but the place seems sorta shady. xD

NJ - I believe Rutgers has it for Jersey residents.
NY - I think there are several. One of the SUNYs has one I think. Not quite sure.
