i´m in Guatemala right now, and for the second week here, i´ve been learning Spanish in Antigua, Guatemala, and it´s all great. I came here about 3.5 weeks ago for a missions trip to Nicaragua. And in the beginning, i thought, ¨wow these ppl are maaad different from me¨ and i didnt even really try to get along. but as time went, i became friends with everyone, pretty much met Jesus in the missions trip.
the situation=
my dad currently works and have been living in Guatemala for about 3-4 years now, and comes to visit every 2-3 months, which i think is really sad. and, we live in the states. and, i didnt even want to move here, considering idk my dad 100% and that it´s just really bad here. but this summer i learned that, it´s not bad at all, and after the missions trip, i changed and my dad changed, so our relationship changed.
so, i´m basically saying, i have consideration in persuaying my parents for us to move here, there being many good international schools, i already have friends, and that this is a really good opportunity.
first, i can be trilingual perfectly, i cant go out as much, so i´ll concentrate on my studies, and it´ll overall be a nice opportunity and experience, to live in another country. and as for the dangerous part, we live in a safe part of the city and we have bodyguards and a tank-like car, so i don´t really expect much to happen as long as we pray and be extra careful. it´s all soo perfect, this being my 4th time here and how i realized it´s all good here.

BUT! there´s a catch.

this is my first year playing football, and wen i play with my friends which are on the chamion team, they say i´m one hell of a fullback or linebacker. so, i wanted to give football a chance, but i have NO experience, so idk how i´m gonna do, but i have big ambitions..like being the first FULL korean to be a MVP in a superbowl. it´s gonna take a lot of work, but i´m not gonna give up...but, unfortunately in guatemala futbol (soccer) and basketball are the bigger sports. so, i cant persue my dreams of the first KOREAN to be MVP in the NFL, and i´m starting my freshmen year (i´m 14). but, i´ve been thinking, i can just put all out on studying and basketball, and maybe i can be successful...but i´m not sure...cuz my primary dream is to become CEO, which meens hell of a lot of studying, which i can do in Guatemala, because i won´t be out as much. But NFL was a back up or if i make it, i can make it.
or i can be the first korean to be beastly in NBA cuz i´m 6´0. idk..

what should i do=

stay in america and persue my secondary dream of becoming a pro football player OR

persuay my parents to come down here to Guatemala, where i can study harder, and or either become the first korean to be beastly in the NBA. idk..

I think... you really need to just focos on your studies. Just because you have your mind set on a dream doesn't mean you will succeed in it and no I'm not trying to discourage you. But being that you're so young still, you need a back up plan in life. Focus on your studies and then do your dream. Football doesn't pay for your bills and living expenses in the future. It's only if you're really good at it and make it to the championships.

Ha-Seung Jin is 7'3 and he was an NBA bust.

Young athletes get scouted in the States more, and they don't get looked very much at until their junior/senior year in highschool. From there, you'd have to make national headlines with your performances to get attention of college scouts. And then from there, NBA scouts. Even then, MVP honors are highly unlikely, whether it be NBA or NFL. Then again, Allen Iverson played football and basketball in highschool and won MVP so ehh..

Actually, you could be the guy who sits on the bench in the NFL and never play and still get paid 6 figures a year.

Yep. Easily 6 figures....you could easily make a few mil just sitting the bench as a 2nd string.

Stay in America.

You'd be able to gain the most exposure. The level of compeition would be the highest. Sure, you may not put
up stats as high as playing in Guatemala but at least your game will improve playing against the best out there at the high school level.

If you're 14 and 6'0, I'd say you have a chance to grow to be 6'3 eventually.

6'0 makes you a only point guard in basketball.

Average NBA height is around 6' 6.93"
