I'm sure if you do it every day consistently, you'll get results within 1-2 week. :x
Thats how it was for me when I started working out everyday, I got results in 1-2 weeks biggrin.gif

If you want to lose a lot of weight rather than get toned, I'd recommend running instead. Swimming bulks me up more than anything, though it is a lot easier on the joints. I have met people who have maintained a decent weight through swimming, though. Probably a couple weeks before you see changes.

Swim laps [freestyle] back and forth~ Try not to rest in between, if you know how to do a flipturn so you can continually swim, do it! :3

Swimming definitely help you slim down if you do it everyday for hour+. You probably won't get too much muscle unless you swim very very hard and fast. ^^;

I heard swimming is the best form of exercise. biggrin.gif
So if you're consistent with swimming, then I'm sure you'll notice changes within a month.

Yeah, like others said.. if you do it CONSISTENTLY, I'm sure you'll notice some changes in about 2 weeks.

i used to go swimming twice a week, 45 mins a week. i lost 8 lbs in a month but my mom made me diet too. your results might not be similar because it also depend on how MUCH you swim and how long you swim. what i mean by much is like light swimming or heavy swimming. the thing is after a month, i haven't lost any more weight after that. (i continued swimming for about 3-4 yrs). keep in mind that swimming makes u have broader shoulders, it toned up my arm tho. also if u swim in a heavy mode then your gonna get very hungry. i only see swimming as a from of excercise and a way to keep fit, not as a way to lose weight. i can't really answer how much you will be toned up because it depends on heavy you swim but i can say that you will see on your arms and calves more toned.

swimming is probabaly the best cardio ever, you don't get sweaty and it's mighty refreshing.
you'll lose quite alot of weight, i think i swam like 5-10 laps a day for a week and i was about 115 lbs, and i checked my weight at the end of the week, weight went down to 102lbs. i also gained man arms =_= .. which is the downside.

V oh yeah i know that, i meant like.. the feeling of being sweaty =/ shoudl've put that instead eh? xD

Hmmm.. ^^..you do sweat a lot in the pool...

It's a great exercise to be doing because it works out your entire body, and it's so refreshing that you can do it everyday.

Swim hard though if you want results!

Provided you eat right, about a month.
I don't think you should stop after that tho.
You still need to maintain your weight. smile.gif

swimming is a great excercise
problem is swimmers get ridiculously large appetites

i still have my huge appetite
LOL so i'd have to stick in the gym for 3-4 hours a day to burn off x2 the calofries i eat
LOL about 2-5 thousand
depending on wat i eat that day happy.gif;

so keep a healthy appetite
and swim a lot biggrin.gif
you really should see results in a couple weeks

GOOD LUCK :]

Depending on how much you do, you'd probably be able to see results within 2 weeks.

Too bad my swim practices are intense, and I end up eating more and gaining weight (because of muscle). :[

I use to swim alot, and did lose weight and toned up. But my shoulders got wider/broader -_____-.
I guess it cause I was doing at 13-15 which kinda was my puberty stage, I don't know if it effects it.
But I regret it..kind of.
