I'm guessing you start with a little oil and sliced kimchi. Probably sesame oil (참기름) because you know koreans love that stuff. Cook the kimchi for a little bit and then put in cooked rice & mix it all up. Maybe you can throw in some other stuff too.
I like having my bokeum bap slightly burnt.

serves 2
half a pound of ground beef
1-2 cups of kimchi (chopped--coarse or fine depends on your liking)---save the kimchi juice for later in the recipe
half an onion(chopped)
1-2 garlic cloves (minced)
2-3 cups of cooked rice
green onion/scallions (roughly chopped)
soy sauce
salt
pepper
and optional chili sauce
egg
marinate the beef with salt, pepper garlic and soysauce for a bit (15-30 minutes... depending on how patient you are)
drain the kimchi and chop it (save the liquids)
beat the egg until nicely scrambled
once done with the marinating, in a large frying pan/skillet, heat up some cooking oil
proceed to cook the beef until about halfway
add in onion
add in the kimchi and continue cooking until the beef and veggies are cooked and nice and soft
make some space in the middle of the pan and pour in the egg and let it cook until the bottom is firm
then scramble and mix with the other foods in the pan until fully cooked
stir in the cooked rice and add the kimchi liquid and mix well until you have a nice reddish orangish color all around
and there you have it
