I've heard that getting cuts = faster growth, cuz the split ends and such are cut away = non damaged hair. So maybe? Iunno either

QFT.
Do you use a heat styling protecting spray/cream? If not, you should start.

It shouldn't slow down the process because your hair grows from your roots and the heat from your straightener shouldn't be damaging the roots because they're under your scalp XD But~ it will be damaging the shafts of your hair so don't forget to use heat protecting serums or sprays!

Have regular trims, use a heat protecting spray, and generally look after your health.

If you can't afford a GHD, then I suggest a straightener with ceramic plates, NOT ceramic COATED plates, and ionic compounds. Invest in good quality shampoo and conditioners such as Redken and give yourself a hair treatment once or twice a week.

From what I've heard, it only damages your hair, but from all the burning, it might slow it down.
