I don't think UCR is that hard to get into since they have a pretty high acceptance rate..

I would work at getting your GPA over 3.0, but apply anyway. UCR has a pretty high admit rate~ most people I know used it as their like 4th backup haha. I didn't apply for UCR but somehow they accepted me? o.x;

it's because they know that someone with the stats to get into cal or yale won't end up at their school.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't bank too much on your GPA - it won't look good to colleges. While you did improve from sophomore to junior year, your GPA decreased from freshman to sophomore year, which doesn't exactly make for a consistent upward trend. You have good extracurriculars, though, and a decent SAT score. Not to worry, though - you'll probably get into Riverside, but I wouldn't hope for much past Riverside, Santa Cruz, Merced, and maybe Irvine.

It says on Collegeboard that UCI requires Math as a subject test. Is this true?

just pick another subject that ur comfortable with and take another subject test.
quote from uc website
"Two SAT Subject Tests.
These must be in two different areas, chosen from the following: English, history and social studies, mathematics (Level 2 only), science or language other than English."

haha, i've actually heard of some guy my friends know who got rejected. he just began looking up classes at the community college the day he got rejected.
and then an acceptance letter from uc davis came later.
