I have tried for 6 years to gain weight, but it's never happened.
I have been on every diet. Healthy diets, nonhealthy diets, carbs, protein shakes, 5 meals, etc.
Recently, someone told me the problem was that my body was simply not ingesting the nutrients, and that's why I wasn't gaining any weight. Is this true ? If this is true, should I really drink a lot of aloe [like they said ?] If not.. does anyone know anything >_> ?
Also, I've been skinny ALL MY LIFE... I wonder if it's too late for my body to gain weight and adapt to puberty.. my skinniness actually caused a huge problem with my development, according to my OBGYN. But they were unable to suggest anything.
My parents don't seem very worried, and they don't want to take me to see a nutritionist or dietitian or anything.. my dad just thinks they're trying to get money. Hhahaha... &my dad is SUPER skinny and my mom's pretty thin too...
[ I'm 20 years old, 5'6" and 86 pounds >_>. YEAH I KNOW IT'S HORRIBLE ].

To gain weight you need to have a calorie surplus... basically calories in > calories out. It would actually help if you started weight training as well so you could stimulate your muscles for growth. Also, you shouldn't worry about getting huge from weightlifting because as a female you simply do not produce enough testosterone to do so.
Simply put, just EAT calorie dense and nutritious meals. I can't give you an exact number... it's going to take some trial and error on your part. Find out what you caloric maintenance level is which I'm assuming is very low given your weight and shoot a few hundred calories above it. I'd say try 2000 calories with these ratios (40%protein/40%carbs/20%fat).

basically aaandy covered it pretty much.
calories in > calories out = weight gain
to determine your maintenance level, you just track all stuff that you are eating on a regular basis (maybe use fitday.com for starters) and see what you are roughly taking in. keep track for 1-2 weeks and you should have a pretty accurate reading.
now try to eat about 200-500 calories above your maintenance level and you should gain about 1lbs/week (which should be almost only muscle if you eat clean). dont gain too fast or most of it will be just water and fat.
there are different types of diets (high protein, high carb diets). i suppose you want to gain muscle and a as little fat as possible. regular exerise plus appropriate diet will prevent muscles loss and therefore weight loss.
split your meals into 5-6 smaller meals spread throughout the day. make sure to eat every 2-3 hours instead of having 3 large meals a day. this will accelerate your metabolism and helps you not to store fat if you eat the right things.
maybe something like this:
breakfast 1: oeatmeal, milk, whey protein
breakfast 2: banana, bread, peanut butter
lunch: chicken breast, rice, veggies
snack: low fat quark, fruits
dinner: veggies, some lean meat?
before sleep snack: low fat quark, whey protein
dont forget to work out or otherwise all that protein will not be utilized for muscle growth
my dad always said, i can never get any bigger because its in the genes but i said no! if i want to gain weight, i just need to eat more. i thought i was eating a lot but when i was eating 3-4k kcal a day, i knew what "a lot" really meant.
i have gained 11lbs in the last two months so.. it is not impossible ^^
