We haven't done scheduling yet but I know I'll be having these classes for sure. I still have 2 more slots left.

AP English Literature and Composition
AP Statistics
AP Calculus
AP Human Geography
Independent Projects
Gym (Required sad.gif)

On a side note I am no longer taking the ACT. I've taken it four times already and just refuse to take it again. I'm quite satisfied with my last score smile.gif
And I am currently procrastinating: I have an application essay due Wednesday, a speech for Tuesday, and a research paper due tomorrow. All of which I haven't started yet..

Procrastinating is really bad guys.

Hey, fellow juniors~ Haha.

I'm working on a report for my English class and the topic is: What is wrong with America's education system, and how do we fix it?

So, give me your thoughts.
What's wrong with your schools?
What would you like to see done to fix it?
And anything else that you find relevant.
Anything and everything helps.
I'm turning to SOOMPI because I want to know if the same things that are happening here in Oklahoma are going on in the rest of the world.

Thanks~ ^^

I'm taking 4 SAT IIs. US History, Bio, Math IIC, and Chinese.
I probably won't send in my US History score b/c I don't feel like I've learned anything in that class. but it doesn't hurt to try.

I'm more worried about AP tests right now though. sad.gif

LOL, i know. My AP Stats teacher is like, I think all of you guys in here are ready to pass the test, and I gave her the WTF look. She hasnt taught us a crap's worth in there, and as far as I'm concerned, even if I pass the test, it's not thanks to her.

The only one that I'm somewhat confident about passing is AP Psych. APUSH, AL Lang and AP Stats are kinda iffy for me.
But the thing with AP Psych is we're dedicating this whole month to review, so that's really helpful.

OMG, only one more month!!

I have no confidence whatsoever at gettin a passing grade of a 3
on the AP U.S. History exam. Seriously

I wish I did what like 80% of my class is doing and
took accelerated history.
The stress is killing me. T-T

Anyway, next year I plan on taking

AP Psychology - I heard you use a lot of flash cards but that's it.
Physics A
Pre-Calc A
Actor's Studio - people have been telling me I should act so why not? even though it's totally
random sleep.gif
Journalism - the teacher said she will give us honors credits even if our stories don't make it into
the newspaper. SWEET.
English A - this is my 4th year in English accelerated, my teacher recommended me for AP but I'm too much
of a punk to take the course. >.<

All in one sitting, or altogether over your high school life? I thought you couldn't take more than 3 SAT II's in one sitting O_O
Or maybe I'm wrong.

Junior year is killing me. Today I overslept because of a food coma and missed the May SAT deadline by minutes. I screamed at myself until I realized that the fee waiver also covered late charges, so I didn't spend anything. I'm taking 5 AP's right now and I haven't learned anything. Time to cram it up in April. T_T

Next year's schedule:

AP Government
AP English Literature
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics, maybe?
AP Microeconomics
College Peer Counseling
Leadership

angelfightrJ - It's awesome that your school offers yoga! How are you able to have 9 classes?

It's so weird to think that we're all going to be seniors. Especially since my school is from 6-12th grade, so the hierarchical thing is definitely there. When I see all the seniors who got into college so chill, it makes me miss the days when I used to have a smile on my face. T_T

^ no you're right, it's only three in a sitting. but the chinese SAT II is only offered in november, so i think she's talking about the number of SATII's she's taking in total.

btw, who's taken the SAT more than twice?
halcyon days
je voudrais... peace/love/style.

I'm taking the US History, Math and Bio in May and if I need to, in June. Then I'm taking the Chinese one in November. I hate how they only have one test date for languages each year. bleh..

^ danggg. that's a lot of SAT IIs. ;x

i looked up the requirements for the colleges i'm planning to apply to, and thank god i only need to take 2 of them, haha.

on another note...the ACT kicked my butt today. taking practice tests didn't really help.
the math and science sections were so hard, and i was pushed for time on the majority of the sections, ESPECIALLY science.
i'm definitely not expecting a high score. i hope the curve is at least pretty generous though.

did anyone else take it?

^Oh yah, I've been meaning to ask someone, but how is the ACT compared to SATs? I know ACT covers like every subject, but in terms of level of difficulty, questions, etc., how are they different?

And have you guys started studying for any of your APs yet?

^ it's really just a personal preference. most people take the SAT because its more widely known, but i prefer the ACT. i've taken both before, and i don't think i'm planning to take the SAT again. well, most people don't like the fact that the ACT covers science too (because that's the hardest section), but other than that, the main difference is that the ACT is NOT generous with time. i thought the SAT was fast paced when i first took it, but man, its really nothing compared to the ACT. in terms of questions, i think the ones on the ACT are a little easier, but you have so little time to finish the sections - that's the hardest part. like for the reading section, you have 35 minutes to read four passages and answer 40 questions. you just have to know how to pace yourself when you're taking the ACT. the other difference is that the ACT has four main sections, and you finish one subject at a time. on the SAT, you have a lot more sections, but you have to constantly switch between reading, math, and writing every 40 minutes or so. i personally prefer to work on one section, and just get it out of the way. and the last thing is that the essay topics on the ACT are much easier than the SAT - that's a plus.

and i haven't started studying yet, but i probably will tomorrow. i need to cram during spring break because the moment school starts again, i know i'm gonna be loaded with work.
