Morning Musume - Furusato http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHEeugPWj5s

There are many different versions (multiple members sang their own version), but this is the original.

Maaya Sakamoto- Tune the rainbow
Maaya Sakamoto- Yubiwa
Maaya Sakamoto- The garden of everything *this gets a bit upbeat later on...so I'm not sure if you'll find this to your liking*
Kobukuro- Eien no tomo ni They're somewhat similar to Ken Hirai
Eri Nobuchika- Sketch for summer
Miwako Okuda- Tsuki ga Suki If you really like her style, I recommend her second album, which is more on the calmer side. Her first album was more 'emo', but it's pretty good too.

I tried not to suggest the typical artists of Jpop that you hear, but I thought maybe these 2 songs from Ai Otsuka won't hurt.
Ai Otsuka-Daisuki da yo
Ai Otsuka- Kingyo Hanabi

*edit
Okay I have to add:
Rikki- Suteki da ne If you are familiar with FFX you'll know this song very well haha

BRIGHT - Tears: http://www.imeem.com/miku/music/dQvFiKWj/bright_jpop_tears/
Parago - ORION: http://www.imeem.com/people/kFiYhDh/music/...se_go_go_orion/

I don't know how much you would like those songs but I find them pretty comfortable. I especially love Tears by BRIGHT.

EDIT: Oh. I forgot about Ryohei Yamamoto too. He has a good variety of songs that are pretty soothing.

alan - 明日への讃歌
alan - 空唄
alan - 桜モダン

All alan's songs are quite unique and beautiful, you should definitely check them out biggrin.gif It's like Chinese and Japanese music blended together smile.gif (She's actually Chinese/Tibetan)

m-flo loves melody. & Ryohei - miss you
m-flo loves MONKEY MAJIK - Picture Perfect Love

Some m-flo remixes are always a must in the Jpop biggrin.gif

AZU - 時間よとまれfeat.SEAMO

The R&B beats of Japan are a must too happy.gif
