“We responded to a call by LAPD. They were there before us,” Sgt. Scott Wolff of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s station said Sunday. “Mr. LaBeouf was transported from the scene to the hospital. Our deputies contacted him there. He was subsequently arrested, cited out and is currently at the hospital.”

Shia’s female passenger suffered minor head injuries, as did the driver of the other car. They have both been treated and released from the hospital.

Shia, on the hand, wasn’t so lucky. The one-time star of Disney’s Even Stevens, suffered a minor head injury and an injury to his left hand, for which he underwent surgery.

“His hand was smashed up pretty bad,” a spokesperson for the Sheriffs Department confirms.

drunk driving is extremely serious and drunk drivers murders a lot of innocent people on the streets all the time,he needs to stop doing awful things!!!i like shia,he seems like a nice guy and he's a good actor,i just hope he will not end up like lindsay lohan

i adore shia but he should be charged with a felony and spend (real) time in prison. driving under the influence should NEVER (under any circumstance) be condoned. and he should come visit me so i could get his autograph then slap some sense into his stupid curly head.

he doesn't realize how lucky he is to only get a smashed hand and a minor head injury. my friend was drunk driving and she passed away like, 2 weeks ago. *sigh* i don't know how long it will take people to understand how bad it is

this is disappointing to me.................................................

i hope he doesn't end up like all the others, let the fame and money get to his head or wreck his life. he's an incredible actor, it would be a shame to see all that talent go down the toilet cuz he made wrong choices. arggggghhh!

Every month now, some idiot celebrity has been putting lives in danger with drinking and driving, and I for one don't want to die because Paris/Lindsay/Mischa/Shia won't call a taxi.
