Can someone please tell me whether all features of Korean cyworld is the same as US or Taiwan cyworld? (If you know..)

I still don't know what attributes of my homepi has and for example, Korean cyworld can see my friends log on, but how I can make chat with them? Does it work the same as MSN, or I can only see icon, knowing my friends are on or off...?

^ The first option in the list says "Name", the second is for a "Korean ID Number" and the third option is for Foreigners who don't have ID numbers. Click that option if you don't have a Korean ID number, which most people here don't.

They aren't the same at all really.

If your friends are online, you have the option to invite them to chat.
Just click on their name under the 일촌ON window and click .
It will invite your friend to chat and as long as they accept, the pop up chat will start.

Of if you click on their name under the update area:


Those are both ways you can invite them to chat.

Can anyone please give me some general ideas about Korean cyworld clubs?
What are their purpose for, and do they ask people to join with identification or specific age range required?

I am not really sure about the "requirements" you need to "pass" in order to be accepted into a club. However, I think most of them are opened clubs and the private ones are probably the ones where you cannot view or join unless someone sent you an invitation. I usually stick to joining clubs dedicated to singers I like since they are always opened to anyone. As for the purpose of clubs, it is just a way for you to interact with those who have common interests, or are similar to you in some ways (depending on what the club is dedicated to). I don't bother accepting the invitations sent by my friends or by strangers since they tend to be random ones. All I can say is that joining clubs is just a way to socialize with others - then again, you can always join and not write on the wall.

My account got deleted in 3 days after creating it...has this happened to anyone else?

That's weird. Did you receive any e-mails from the server?

Perhaps there was something wrong with your registration form? If they don't e-mail you about the reason why your account was deleted, you can always e-mail them and ask them why, or you can always create a new account with another e-mail address.

You send the same one so that they can verify that you are the same person.

Hello, I'm trying to register an account for cyworld, but I'm getting this message: 이메일 인증을 꼭 해주셔야합니다 I know it has to do with my e-mail, but...XD They don't exactly have msn.com as an option. (Just hotmail.) Help?

^ You should be able to choose the last option in the drop down
which will then let you write your own email address domain.

but my email is hotmail. and there is an hotmail option. but this keeps popping up o_o;

in the text box during that step. That's what that is about actually. I just wasn't paying enough attention when I was
reading through the thread.

You can try gmail. It took a couple of hours for me to get the email when I was demoing the new registration.
And be sure to check your junk mail folders just in case it was filtered into there.

REGISTER USING INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY. FF DOESNT WORK.
1. go to www.cyworld.co.kr
2. click on 회원가입, which is right under the login area
3. click on english.
4. hit agree, and now you are at the main page, so just enter your information.
• if you're registering with @yahoo.com..it has to be @yahoo.co.kr, and those are 2 diff emails. the easiest thing is to just make a hotmail account
• put the name that appears on your driver's license, passport, etc..
• you have to enter at least one phone number, but you can just make it up if you don't want to enter your real phone number
• next, attach a picture of your ID: driver's license, passport, greencard, etc.. as long as it has YOUR PICTURE, YOUR NAME, YOUR BIRTHDAY, SEX, AND EXPIRATION DATE, it works. you can black out everything else in paint (thats what i did).
• type in the code, and hit "approval for member on cyworld"
5. if you're approved, you should see this guy w/a clipboard. another way is just to logout "로그아읏" and then log back in and see if you see the guy holding the clipboard.
6. now, you have ONLY 7 DAYS to send in an attachment of your ID card with the email you registered (do this even if you attached the picture when you were registering).

I don't think birth certificates have your photo on it, right? If that's the case, that won't work.
But you can always use your student ID, or anything that includes a photo of you, as well as your full name and birth date.
(Sorry. I have only seen my birth certificate once and I don't really remember how it looks like).

Okie, this is probably the stupidest question, but what kind of calendar do we use in the U.S? Solar or lunar?
How do I check what I put in my cyworld information?
And, if I put in the wrong one, is there any way that I can change it?
