so recently, my lips have been super dry and the sides of my lips have been cracked >.< it really hurts to eat and drink because the food stings my lips. especially brushing my teeth when all the toothpaste gets on my lips.its never been this way before.
and no chapstick would work on me.
i've tried using vaseline, it just works for like 5 minutes and it gets dry again, i used soft lips and it does nothing, i used carmex nothing happened, i used burts bees and it just stung on my lips
what products should i use ?

i think your body is just dehydrated. drink more water and use one of those lip balms regularly.

Yeah. Drink more water and slather on the vaseline. Like, until all you can feel is jelly grossness. o_o;
Don't lick your lips either. =/
And sometimes, it's good to rub your lips with a rough towel to get rid of all the dead skin cells and etc. =/

Hmm, maybe try wetting them and exfoliate? When my lips are dry they start to peel, so i exfoliate to get the dead skin off and the new skin is soft.

But if that's not the case, i say pack on a lot of lip balm. I find C.O. Bigelow from bath and body works, works well for me. Or you can try MAC's lip conditioner, that one makes my lips look really pretty and soft smile.gif plus, you can try them out to see if they work for you before you buy it.

And if that doesn't work, then you should carry lip balm with you wherever you go so when it does get dry again, you can put on more. Just keep applying it and it should heal in time.

It is the description of lips
  1. Lip, a soft, protruding organ at the mouth of many animals, including humans
  2. Lip factory, a French factory which was self-managed in the 1970s
  3. Lip, the main character of the Super Famicom video game Panel de Pon
  4. Lips Manlis, a criminal in Richard Tracy, portrayed in the film as Paul Sorvino
  5. Lip Gallagher, one of the main characters in the television drama, Shameless.
  6. Lip, a former brand of watches based in the French city of Besançon

Drink more water. I heard that "aquaphor" is very good for super dry lips. My brother is on accutane and one of the side effects is super super dry lips so he uses aquaphor to return his lips back to regular moisture.

^ Yeah I use this thing called Blistex Herbal Answer
and it's worked better than all the 9287498374938 crap I've used.

I swear I had the dryest lips in the world. Getting toothpaste on your lips contributes
to it, so try not to get any on your lips. Drinking a lot of water and not licking your
lips help too. If they're really chapped and peeling, wet your lips + toothbrush and softly
brush off the flakes.

You can see I got a lot of tips on this, LOL.

Drinking more water definitely helps, I used to get really bad cracked lips in colder weather and vaseline and various other lip balms never helped because i kept licking the stuff off, they just make the stuff too damn tasty dry.gif especially that aloe vera vaseline stuff.

I used to have super dry lips, and it hurts like hell in the winter when it starts to crack and bleed. =o

Before sleeping, apply a ton of vaseline to your lips and don't touch! I used to do that and when I woke up, my lips would be super soft. Then, throughout the day, use Blistex (LOVELOVE).

Besides that, water is key. It's amazing how such a small thing can affect you. From a lack of water, my lips AND skin used to get really dry. Now I guzzle so much water, it may be slightly unhealthy for me. =P Good luck!

Drink water!! And try not to lick your lips too much during the day, since that seems to make it worse. When your lips are dry, it's a sign that you're dehydrated.

Like others have mentioned, you probably just need to get more water into your system.

As for chapstick and lip balm, different kinds work for different people and different situations. Right now your lips are already damaged, so you need to heal them- brands like softlips are for protection and prevention of damage. You need to try something that's medicated- they usually use that word, medicated, on the packaging.

But you should also ask the pharmacist, they can make good recommendations for you especially after looking personally at your situation. We can't really do much for you behind the Internet and our computer screens.

Well here's a nice trick if your also having problems with the dead skin on your lips you get from dry lips. Take an old tooth brush and add some skin exfoliator and gently scrub your lips and the dead skin comes off easily. then you get a chance to start over and keep your lips moisturized. Also try not to lick your lips, this just causes them to dry out even more.
