So What Do You Koreans Think About People Like Charkenya? Non-koreans that are in love with Korean culture

She is not Korean at all, but you can definitely tell how much she loves Korea by her myspace. She even speaks Korean. She wants to become a singer in Korea
I'm white myself, and I love Korean culture and would love to learn the language sometime. But some people seem a little extreme and will probably be called a "wannabe" by a lot of people, but I'm just wondering what you guys think about non-koreans loving Korea to that extremity. Even other asians, because even though they're asian, they're still not Korean.
I just hate how everyone that isn't Korean is called a wannabe for liking the culture :/

I also think she should be more open to other asian cultures, I remember someone asked her if she also likes Japanese or Chinese music and she replied " I ONLY LISTEN TO KOREAN POP!"
sounded a little close-minded to me, but that's just my opinion.
she's very original and very eccentric, I just think she should be a little more diverse.

I think it's great for people to try to learn more about Korea and everything just don't take it overboard, yanno? But everyone think differently so their opinions may differ from mine.

i agree with you. i'm not korean and i like the cuture, language, music, and people. although, i'm learning their language, i will never ever forget the fact that i am filipino. i'll always be proud of it. and yea, it's not bad to learn more about korea but there should be a limit.

I agree with you! I also think it's great for other people to learn about new cultures and take an interest in it but not to the point where they disregard their own culture. It's good to stay open to new ideas and influences but yeah, don't go overboard. (:

It's a Korean soul in an African American girl's body....

Hey, if they like it . . . why not?
But, I don't think they should totally shun they're own culture either.

I will forever be a fan of 赤西仁 ♥

As for this Charkenya person, she has every right to immerse herself in other cultures and if she's actually gone and learned Korean, well the i must applaud her for that.
But she needs to tone things down a bit, her myspace almost gave me a seizure
