This was our biggest night yet. A lot of new people joined the chat and all of our regulars showed up too. The last stragglers didn't clock out until the wee hours of the morning once again. We covered the usual meet and greets for all the new faces. We covered a lot of fun topics like music, movies, online gaming and the different ways we all made it onto soompi. Some ventured into deeper territory and talked about relationships and their overall outlook on things like cheating and marriage. Good times were had by all and just about everyone left with a bunch of new people added to their buddy list.
I'm really glad to see how this group is growing and I welcome anyone who is interested to join in. It's great fun and there's no pressure. Don't be afraid to lurk or if you feel like it make a random outburst. There are all types of personalities that are interacting online and it's a blast the whole way through.
Hope to see lots of familiar faces and even more new ones for this week's chat.

August 16th recap
This week was back to craziness. we had a lot of new faces in addition to our regulars. In an effort to preserve the intimacy of our chat from the week before, we tried to develop smaller chat sessions for groups of people in addition to the main session for everyone. that's still in the beta stage, so stay posted until we come up with a chat tool that allows everyone to feel included and welcome in the conversation. but we still managed to cover lots of different ground including the olympics (of course), music, relationships and our different backgrounds. We even got to hear a live recording of one member's piano skills - antisocials have got talent!
It was totally fun and was still going strong after four whole hours! we still had some very quiet lurkers, but that's more than fine. Hopefully each week we will all grow more comfortable and accustomed to one another and be able to speak freely together.

August 9th Antisocial club chat recap.
this week was a lot of intimate than last week. We have 3 and at most 4 at one point during the hour(s). I actually like it that way, we can actually talk and not getting bombarded with only a few chatting and some poeple getting left out.
To those who didnt show up. Thats good , we dont want you here hitting on our shy innocent girls anyways.
Due to the demand of our members, we will now make this a weekly thing.
see you guys next week.

August 2nd Antisocial club chat recap.
It looks like those antisocial are not antisocial after all. 8 poeple showed up and participated in the chat. Mostly asian, specifically Chinese. I would expect a silent chat but its turns out to be a chat that seems to never end. After the 1 hour period, the peeps are still going and going strong.
Due to pretty good turn out, we will host the same event next week , same time 9th August, 10pmEST or 7pmPST.

lol i know i'm just messing with you.
being social defeats the whole purpose of being antisocial but then again maybe antisocial don't want to be antisocial so this is a chance for them to get social rather than wallow in their misery. am i correct?

But would anti-socials even sign up on soompi (or any other forum) though?

Very different worlds. In the online world, you have the comfort of remaining hidden behind a computer screen. People are easier to communicate with on the internet, because it doesn't involve any shameful consequences. In the offline world, people are passive like ants. It would feel much stranger doing what you do online in the offline world. Take a cafe for example. If I were to simply walk in there and strike up a conversation with a total stranger, I'd feel weird. But, if it was AIM? At least I can always hit the X at the top of the window without having to worry about glaring eyes giving me a bad vibe as I take my leave (not that I even use instant messengers all that much anymore or anything. I hate always being the one hitting people up to say 'hi.' They could care less to initiate even once). I'm actually not shy offline, but I'm very silent because I have nothing interesting to say that would hold their attention for more than five seconds. My parents think I'm some kind of a reclusive misanthrope.
