Hi!

So basically I have been using this beat up Razor for the past 2 years of my life with Verizon Wireless and my contract is ending soon.
I was wondering if I could use a Korean cellphone in the US.
My parents live in Korea so it'd be pretty comfortable and not to mention free haha if they bought one there and sent it to me.

I've been dwelling on the thought of buying the iphone or the samsung omnia coming up but I'd rather go for something more unique and if possible, cooler.

I live in Los Angeles so it'd also be pretty easy for me to to get to K-town and search around.

Could someone please fill me in on what phones are really hot right now and the exact process of activating it?

Thank you so much!

Jay

i wouldn't get a cellphone directly from korea because those phones are made to be used ONLY in korea. unless its from an airport. but since you live in los angeles you can buy a sky phone im pretty sure they sell them over there. but just to be sure ask the person whos selling the phone if its unlocked

Are you going to stick with Verizon Wireless? If so, make sure that the phone you'll get is CDMA technology.

Right now Nokia and Samsung phones seem to be popular. I think they'll work on CDMA.

Not unless the phones are from Verizon themselves. If they arent , then they are all GSM networked. So it wont work on Verizon.

Korean cellphones are very hard to unlock on a CDMA network thats why you rarely see anyone actually selling them .
