cars.com <--- bought my most recent car through here.

autotrader.com <---- sold my last car here.

the auto section in yahoo is affiliated with autotrader.com, I think.

but the above two mentioned sites are the most frequented sites for auto buying/selling.

good luck.

+1 for auto trader

I found my miata from that site.

I would stick with cars.com and autotrader.com

I wouldn't trust ebay for cars... Craigslist is still a great site. I dont know if you could really find such a great deal on a Evo 9 MR... the people who buy these cars are enthusiasts who prolly crash them or try to resell them after driving them hard/mod them.

I still recomend the above sites. GL hunting down a good deal!

+ 2 autotrader.

also try local newspaper classifieds, sometimes older less technically inclined still use them. (read: steals/great deals! =) but somehow i doubt a person owning an evolution mr would fit in that category...

Evo IV? Are you sure he wasn't talking about the IX or VIII MR's? The IV never came out in the US, and isn't even legal in Canada yet. However, I second and third all the previously mentioned sites, but craigslist is sometimes the way to go for overall volume...(Even I'm thinking of looking to import an Audi from the US when I have to buy a car...)

LOL i thought she was talking about the 9, but now that you mention it... IV = 4.... Im pretty sure, the USA didn't get Evo 4's.

There's a VERY small few that I know of in the US that were brought in as a rolling chassis and marked as "kit cars". The same way people get R34 Skylines and S15 Silvias legal. Evo 4 was produced in 1996, and the Evo never existed in the US until the 8. Fortunately, Canadians can get Evo 4's starting in 2011...

I got my car from craigslist. Sometimes there are never any good deals around no matter how hard you look. So maybe just wait, check the craigslist and other car sites daily and a good deal will come.

Since you're in the bay area, try looking around in different craigslist locations. Sacramento, Monterey, Modesto, Stockton, etc. Hell, even try some of the socal craigslist locations as well?

so sweet tryna help your bf findin a car.

try this

www.crazedlist.org

that site will search all the region you want on craigslist.

IMO, there isn't any other site to find great deal on used car other than craigslist. It takes time and patience to find the perfect car for you. I traveled 6 hrs from NJ - NH to pick up my car (some state pricing is cheaper than others)

But for a car like EVO IX MR, you better off telling your bf to save his money and buy one available on your local dealer. The people who trade their car to dealer are the one who wants to upgrade or looking for another type of car. most likely the car they trade in is still unmolested (might be different in some cases)

Also, sign up on local Evo forum and check their classified. You might not get the good deal there, but you could see how the car is build and their history.

oh well, GL

^Second to joining an Evo enthusiast forum. The other benefit to it is that the car might be upgraded, and selling for much less than what was put into the car in total.
