I'm a senior next year and I need to take a senior portrait for the yearbook. The problem is I'm pretty clueless. sweatingbullets.gif
Most people are going to one of those studios to take theirs, but I have quite a few friends who decided to do it on their own since they don't wanna waste their money. Has anyone ever done that before?
And can someone post up their own picture so I can see an example of what it looks like?

Thank you very much in advance.
Oh, and please remove if this is in the wrong place.

For the yearbook? Aren't those usually arranged by the school? My senior yearbook pictures were taken this summer. The photograph company sent out dates and times we could show up to have our picture taken. Since it was for the yearbook, it had no cost or anything. However, you could pay for additional pictures for your own personal use.

Are you talking about casual senior pictures? I thought those don't go in the yearbook...

For the yearbook..your school is assigned a company.
It is best to go there for your senior portrait, as it goes in the yearbook.

For casual pictues, you can go to wal-mart and get a photo lol.
Those aren't even required, only if you want them : )

I'm taking mines this Friday, and yes, they are assigned places by the school.

my school didn't have an assigned photographer,
so a BUNCH of my friends took their own. [:
so if you're confident enough (or know someone who can, say a friend) then
i say go for it!
the ones that people take usually turned out really awesomely because you can do it exactly the way you wanted it to.

Ah, I guess my school is different then. We don't have assigned places to take ours. They do give some suggestions as to where to go, but we have to pay for it, take the picture then send it to the school so they can put it in the yearbook.

I'm also thinking of doing it by myself, but what should the background be? Trees?

That's be awesome if my school lets us do it ourselves.
My school requires us to take it from a certain company. Their stupid packages are so freaking expensive though!!! But you only need to pay if you buy extra pics. The one for yearbook is free unless you want to pay for retouch.

I wish my school allowed us to take it ourselves/decide where to take it. We have to take it from this company that comes to our school 3 times (2 days in June, 3 days in August, and 1 day in September), and we have to make appointments. It costs $25 just to get the picture taken for the year book, which sucks cuz we don't even get to keep the proofs.

My school doesnt have an assigned company for the students.
So we have to go look for one on our own or not take one at all..
i'm looking for a place to take my pictures too
but i dont know where >.<
I was considering Yuen Lui but the deal they had, has been over like
a month ago... and now it's pretty expensive *sigh*

I was wondering...if you don't send them a picture, are they gonna put in your ID picture instead?
Or no picture in the yearbook at all?
