so like...my seagate hard drive had problems a long time ago
1. extremely loud buzzing
2. crashes at random with the noise.
but this stuff died off for a quite a while and only started within the last 24 hours
so my computer has two hard drives and i was trying to isolate which one made the noise. apparantly its C drive.
after the testing, i reconnected the only thing i disconnect, which is the D drive.
i turn on my comp. either a minute into desktop windows, or after loading windows, or sometimes even during bios, my comp crashes.
so i'm assuming my hard drive just died. i dont know if it will suddenly come back alive like what happened before. but this time i think its more serious because. it crashed on startup for 6-7 times in a row.
is there anyway i can get my files back. i really dont want to redownload all the files that i got since my last backup (1 month ago i thnk)
and i also did some work and i dont want to lose them =(
also dont want to restart my saved games. ugh.
please helpp!

you would have to do data recovery. not sure if you would be able to if its making noises when its spinning. professional data recovery is way too expensive just to pull files you can re-download. i would try hooking it up to a external hdd box and see if you could pull data, if you can't, it's pretty much a goner.

wow, sorry to hear that. i'd follow mr.namseng's advice and try to pull off what you can. otherwise, you may need pro data recovery services...
once i hear my drive starting to make any noise, i get it replaced immediately and copy the files off it.
also, is that seagate still under warranty? maybe you could get it RMA'ed if you want it replaced...(although that means they'll dump your old drive)
