i was listening to music on my notebook a few days ago and it froze so i turned it off. when i turned it back on, the screen that let's you choose whether to run the system in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc.. and run normally.. came out.. but no matter which option i chose, it would seem like it was running, but it would come back to the same exact screen. i don't know how to get past it >< and sometimes when i try to run on normal mode, a blue screen will flash for like.. half a second and go away. what do i do?!

If you have a XP disk (assuming you run XP) you can do a XP repair install.
Otherwise you will probably have to find someone who can take out your laptop's drive and copy the files you want... then do a system recovery which will wipe everything out!
