I have heard that it is good to use salt, but I feel as though it may be too harsh for someone with sensitive skin. I've used sugar and it works wonders! smile.gif You can add sugar to your face wash and it'll act as an exfoliator =)

I've used sea salt as a face scrub before.

You just have to remember to be gentle, and definitely don't use it if you have sensitive skin ( or sunburn, yikes. )
Don't do it very often. I only use it every once in awhile.

i actually use a sea salt scrub every other day. it has a really grainy texture so it cleans my pores effectively. i love the stuff!

I've heard of mixing salt + EVOO to cleanse/exfoliate the skin.

i haven't tried salt but i remember this one time i was breaking out and at the beach my mom told me to go wash my face in the ocean water. so i did. i was supposed to wash my face off with regular water but i didn't. needless to say i got sunburned quite badly. it did clear up my face though. lol. sweatingbullets.gif

...er I use salt as a mask (just mix salt with a bit of water) for my terrible acne. It dries up pimples a lot and I usually do this before bed, so in the morning a lot of my pimples have shrinked down or dried up.

I've been doing this everyday, though...and my skin hasn't super dried up or anything.

I use a sea salt (without iodine) mask with honey and jojoba oil to exfoliate my skin three times a week, and I exfoliate my back with sea salt every other day. My back has cleared up completely - I had bad bacne for four or five years, and using sea salt cleared up my back in about three weeks.

i use sugar as an exfoliant every once in awhile.

'cause if you have wounds or wtv on your face then you use salt that'd hurt.. sugar seems less, well, severely sounding haha.

The thing that makes salt ideal, though, is the fact that it disinfects (hence the stinging on wounds, etc) and one member on Soompi has claimed that it supposedly can also draw out impurities from acne. Just very purifying, I guess.

What's strange is I could have sworn I used to have a container of natural sea salt in my kitchen, but it's mysteriously disappeared. ._. So I use regular salt now, since it's all I have.

Yeah, and I have also heard many accounts of people with acne who spend a day @ the beach and venture into the water, only to find a few hours later that many of their blemishes had dried up.

I don't think I would want to apply salt onto my face. Doesn't dry skin kind of help wrinkles form? But sea salt exfoliating is great! Just moisturize afterwards, lol.

I've been exfoliating with salt for 30 seconds every night ever since I read this thread. My blemish has been going away gradually. I use sugar to exfolicate for 1 - 2 minutes every morning. I think my face has been looking better now ^____^V. Thanks. I'm gonna keep at it for a while and see the results.

I use a scrub that contains sea salt but never the actual thing
I think it would be too drying and harsh, especially if you have blemishes
