Hey guys,
Sorry I'm not sure where to post this... but for those who have used ebay and paypal, please help me with this because I've never used either before.
I just made an account on both yesterday, so my paypal isn't verified yet. It will be in a few days so I can put in the Paypal code for my debt card.

Anyways, I just started selling yesterday, and this guy messages me that he want to buy early. so I'm ok with it.
He said, this "i'll like to ask if you be able to release item for shipment upon receiving the payment confirmation from paypal stating that your money has been confirmed. Basically i will be paying you via paypal cos is fast and secure pls if this is ok by you kindly get back to me with your details like
Full name, and your paypal valid email address so that i can make the payment right away."

Like I don't know how to use paypal, so I don't know if what he's saying is how paypal works.. So like for the first sentence about releasing the item for shipment.. can he cancel his payment? He wants me to ship to his son who is abroad. I'm guessing he'll make the payment elsewhere. He says he can't wait for the bid to end.

He's 100% positive feedback and 88 star. I just wanted to make sure he isn't using my ignorance to scam me. Basically would you say yes if he were buying from you. He has a really good offer.

Thanks!!

if this is an item on ebay, he does not need your full name and paypal account name.

ebay will automatically link that user to your paypal account once the item is purchased.

sending abroad is usually not a good idea. his english is horrible.

i would guess he has 88 positive feedback because the account is hacked and he is using somebody elses.

bottom line. don't trust people who want you to release the item early. all normal ebayers will ask general questions about the item, not to release the item early. it just makes no sense.

Hey thanks a lot. I just didn't want to make a bad choice.

Anyways, here's the full message.

"Dear seller,
I saw this item much envitable to what i'd need as a gift for my Son who is on an intensive program with chevron abroad. Firstly i have know the perfect working condition of this item and if you'll be able to allow me to purchase it right
away for a quick sales,if yes then i'll be glad to offer you (*5x higher than the bid price*) usd including the shipping and handling via USPS GLOBAL EXPRESS MAIL (EMS), as i can't wait till bid ends, and also i'll like to ask if you be able to release item for shipment upon receiving the payment confirmation from paypal stating that your money has been confirmed. Basically i will be paying you via paypal cos is fast and secure pls if this is ok by you kindly get back to me with your details like
Full name, and your paypal valid email address so that i can make the payment right away..looking forward to read from you.

Thanks"

Remember to put that in your description that you don't ship over seas or internationally. I usually don't ship to Hawaii or Alaska either.

He's just asking you to sell it to him earlier than the closing bid date and that he'll pay you more to do so. Whatever the item is, he's in desperate need of it.

Just tell him that you can't do that because it states in the ebay rules that you can't do any private transactions with another ebay member outside of ebay...or something like that.

UK, Africa, Kenya, etc etc.. anything international is suspicious.

that always happens when you're selling electronics
when my hubby was selling an iPhone or a laptop on eBay, within 2 days he got like half a dozen similar emails.
