I just finished HYD Seasons 1+2, and now I've got a craving for more dramas. Any others that are just as popular?

HYD had a bit of "korean" feel to the drama (love triangles)
Im a fan of jdramas, but I havent seen one like HYD if you are looking for romance like HYD.

Hotaru no Hikari - cute love story
Hana Kimi - sillier than HYD, but if you're looking for cute guys might want to check this out
Absolute Boyfriend - a bit cheesy at times, but touching. Lighter than HYD

My fav. drama is Nobuta Wo Produce... I wouldn't exactly classify it as a romance though, but I love it.

I have several other fav. jdramas, but they're not like HYD.

Hana Kimi – If you like the high school feel with love this is it. It’s hilarious, doesn’t really have a MAIN plot, but the boys make up for it, and the main actress is adorable. Cute, cute, and adorable series and Oguri Shun is in this.

Nodame Cantabile – Okay, this has a university feel to it, but it IS DEFINITELY recommended. This series is seriously one of a kind; Ueno Juri is a wonderful actress.

Nobuta wo Produce – I liked this series a lot, tackled the friendship issue, not really love-themed, but a great drama nonetheless. I recommend it.

Last Friends – VERY different drama, tackles a lot of issues that hasn’t necessarily been tackled yet in other dramas. More friend-themed and about life situations, but it was a nice drama to watch. And it’s pretty recent, just ended a while ago. If you liked Ueno Juri in Nodame Cantabile, you’ll LOVE her here; this drama proves how GREAT of an actress she is.

Proposal Daisakusen – Again, not really high school, but it’s a bit of fantasy, because the main lead goes back in time (in high school) so that he can profess his feelings for his childhood friend who in the future is about to get married. You’ll like it, a bit slow sometimes, but Yamash*ta Tomohisa is really cute!

1 Litre of Tears – Tear-jerker, but a wonderful drama, tackles the whole illness issue. It is extremely touching.

Yukan Club – Okay drama, watch it on your free time, but the high school feel is there. Akanishi Jin is SO CUTE though. It’s about high school friends doing like detective work and tackling cases.

Tatta Hitotsu no Koi – Old love storyline, but it’ll make you happy at the ending. And if you like Kamenashi Kazuya, it’s just a big bonus.

Sapuri – If you like Matsumoto Jun, you must watch Kimi Wa Petto, Sapuri has almost the same storyline as Kimi Wa Petto, with the whole older-woman falling for younger guy theme. Kamenashi Kazuya stars here.

Anego – Read above, almost same storyline with the whole older-woman falling for younger guy theme. Akanishi Jin stars here.

Pride – KimuTaku is in it, he’s one of the best TV series actors ever. Pride was pretty good to me. Started slow, but it progressed.

Engine – KimuTaku is in this too, I liked it. Ueno Juri is also in here.

A Million Stars Falling From The Sky – Another KimuTaku drama, it’s sad.

Bara no Nai Hanaya – A bit too cheesy for me, but I LOVED the main leads, they made the drama worthwhile.

One Pound Gospel – Kamenashi Kazuya seriously made me laugh because of his character, this was a VERY cute drama.

Gokusen – One of the so-called classics!!! Not a love story per say, but it’s a great drama. There’s three seasons on this one, each different, but redundant scenes. I say, watch the first season, Matsumoto Jun and Oguri Shun is in it! If you like it, watch the second, but don’t watch the third… it just became too redundant for me. They had some cute guys in the third season though.

Liar Game – LOVED this, Matsuda Shota, the guy who played Nishikado Sojiro in Hana Yori Dango plays the main lead here, not a romance story, but it was a cool drama.

My Boss, My Hero – A mafia entering school, HILARIOUS!

Kurosagi – Yamash*ta Tomohisa stars here. It’s about a swindler with a dark past. A smidge of a one-sided romance, but a cool drama. If you liked the main lead in Hana Kimi, you’ll like her here; she’s a lead character here too.

First Kiss – If you liked Inoue Mao from Hana Yori Dango, she’s the main lead in both dramas, you’ll like this. A love story between a patient and a doctor.

Orange Days – Sweet story and the leads talking in sign language was very impressive.

Hero – ANOTHER KimuTaku drama, I thought it was GREAT though.

Good Luck! – Another KimuTaku drama, it was pretty good.

Long Vacation – Another KimuTaku drama, it was pretty good also!

Galileo – Interesting detective drama! They way the main guy lead figures out each case were really cool.
