For all those professional bakers here on soompi! T_____________T;
I really need some help I wanted to make my friend a cake for her birthday but I am torn between making it with fondant or not?
Is it not possible to use fondant if theres going to be fruits inside the cake? I wanted to make her a two layered cake with coolwip and strawberries in the middle and then cover it with fondant but thats not possible right? i need to have a plain cake if i wanted to use fondant?



I was thinking about doing something like that?

to be honest... fondant is more there to make the cake look good, it's not really that great to eat.

and also expensive to just buy pre-rolled fondant too and laborous to color. you'll need a good layer of buttercream to adhere the fondant too.

btw, i'm so sad this question wasn't addressed in the thread that Samarie and I made tears.gif
