Hi, I am currently a full time student and I will be finally getting my Associate's degree in process technology in the fall semester , a profession which lets you become a process tech operator, and allows you to work mostly in the oil field industry as a plant or a refinery operator... I also happen to have engineering bachelour's degree, but I am not to fond with such profession. Unfortunately, I am still confused, what I really want to do.
I prefer to continue my education and become a plastic surgeon, does anyone know any good schools for this profession, I know it would take 6-7 years to graduate and get a degree, but I need an advice from someone who is doing something similar.
thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you need to apply to a university and take all the required courses for medical school.
You're going to be starting back from square one. Good luck.

It'll take over 10 years. Well, technically 8 years of school, but you still need residency.
4 years of undergrad.
4 years of medical school.
5 years of plastic surgery residency?
Or maybe a 5 years general surgery residency and 1-2 year plastic surgery fellowship.
Not quite sure about the residency length. But, it'll be around 13-15 years before you become completely licensed and board-certified.

You should say re-constructive surgery, aiding people to lead normal lives.
As for becoming a plastic surgeon, you're going to have to get into a university, complete a degree for 3-4 years minimum (or not, depending on how the university accepts students for med), apply for med school, go through all the shafting (because first year med students get shafted, or so my friends always say), go through school, residency, apply for specialization, etc.... assuming you're a stellar student, this alone will take you more than 12 years. Topping all of this off, if you do get in, I hope you enjoy formaldehyde. It's what is used to preserve your lovely cadavers (aka your practice corpses) and I've been told by friends in nursing that it smells so bad you are likely to feel faint and/or throw up the first time, and feel hungry afterwards because that's what the smell of formaldehyde apparently does.

I stopped believing.
