When you open your browser, and it tells you to download something, you should never download anything from it, you are just adding on to the spywares/viruses.. :x, avg antivirus is free.

May you give me the site for the free downloading.
Cuz i just looked up google and went to the AVG site.
Apparently it was the wrong one, cuz it asked me to pay.
When i said "free downloading" ==;;

For anyone who reads this: FREE ANTI-VIRUS
if your in college. A university mostly. Here in CSUS we get a free antivirus and other programs. Also, remember not all 'viruses' are viruses. Most are malware like Trojan Horses. They pop up and say 'go to www.xxxxblah.com and d/o the antivirus.' If you have Windows Vista open up windows defender and scan. That should take care of it.

^ aww, bummer fellow forum member. I wouldnt get the avg antivirus. It's not efficient. The new Norton antivirus is though. Buy Norton. Good luck.

after you install it, open the program and click on "scan computer", and it should do the rest on its own.
depending on how big your harddrive is, it may take a hour or so to do a full scan.
its best if you click on update first, so you'll be scanning with the lastest definitions.

I don't like norton. Not sure about the new norton, but previous versions of norton were notorious for being system hogs.

Norton can be a pain, i suggest you just stick to avg free antivirus i have it and it works fine. I use to have Avast which is also pretty good but i forgot why i changed to avg in the first place, if avg doesn't work for you try Avast Antivirus.
