UC San Diego for all of your questions.
And frankly, UC San Diego is lightyears better than UC Davis. In every aspect. And I'm not saying this out of bias. Really.

UCD is the worst school ever.

Davis is a boring town(from friends who attended as freshmen), San Diego is a fun city(from friends too and movies xD). Both are great schools and hopefully you'll choose soon because I want to major in Economics too and see what you chose.

I was in the same dilemma as you, mostly because UCD was much closer to home than UCSD. I ended up choosing UCSD because I sort of wanted to get away from home (it is nice, but I wish it was a little closer sometimes haha) and a ton of people from my high school went to Davis and I wanted to meet new people. I love UCSD, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I chose UCD smile.gif

hmmmm not sure if i'll help, but....i live 10 min away from ucd yet i go to ucsd. haha. but anways random suggestions and thoughts.

1. i honestly don't know about econ. haha sorry =X

2. ucd: it's a boring farm town but at least it has a frat row across from the arc. it's totally college friendly. u can bike to downtown davis from your dorm room. it may smell like cows though in the winter. the weather can be super cold or super hot. i feel like the people here are more down to earth though. they have this nice place called the MU. hella cheap bowling for like 1.50, there's an arcade, pool room and stuff.

ucsd: it was actually a military base that they turned into a school. the locals are hella bad drivers and hate college students. everythign closes early except for ralphs. there's no frat row since the city doesn't allow it, but if you're 21 and into drinking, there's always pb and gaslamp in downtown. the weather is always nice and u get to live by the ocean. muir is only a 10 min walk to blacks beach. la jolla shores and south mission are really nice beaches. it's really hard getting around sd if you don't have a car though. there's super good restaurants to try out in sd, like roys across from utc. there's more attractions around here like sd zoo, seaworld, legoland. the weekends here are a bit dead since alota ppl go back home to la.

3. ucd: yes it has co-ed dorms. the older buildings like tercero and segundo are traditional and have boys and girls living on the same floor sharing community bathrooms, while cuarto or whatever has suites set up with the suitemates sharing a common living area and bathroom.

ucsd: all 6 colleges are suite- styled. about 10-12 females or males in one suite. and there'll be the opposite sex neighboring them. every college dorm is set up differently though.

4. they're both uc's. they're bound to have hella asians either way. but i think the more party goer type asians attend ucd while the socially awkward asians go to ucsd. =(
go on and say it
u need me like a bad habit

I think the best way to find out is to visit the campus yourself? I've never been to UCSD so I can't compare.

I go to UCD and double major in econ and international relations.

UCSD for all. Except maybe #2. heh. Note: I'm an Econ major going to UCD. Davis isn't bad at all though. Among the top NATIONAL colleges (private + public) UC Davis is ranked #42. UC San Diego is #38.

But since this is your first time living in California, go to UCSD. DONT go to Davis. You'll probably regret it.
