well, i am a complete NOOB with assembling my own pc. and so, this is the story:
yesterday, i bought MS Home Premium with Service pack 1 for my new pc which i had successfully assembled. the problem is that later today did i find out that it didn't boot properly (because it kept on asking for some stupid driver that was supposively in my hd) due to the fact i had bought an expansion. =______= yes talk about PWNED! anywho, guess i have to waste more money on the "functioning os" and i'm wondering wtf am i suppose to do with the service pack1 now...
you can supposively dl the service pack 1 off the ms site for free and i doubt anyone's as dumb as me who bought this useless software =__________=. question now, is that can i use this disk to upgrade my windows XP with the service pack 1? or is it possible for me to sell it...somehow =_____=...

... wut?
Haha, so confusing, I don't know of any mainstream cases where a driver would be missing for installation of Vista. Unless you built a computer using parts from 1995 or built a complex RAID array or something. MS Vista Home Premium is a 'functioning OS' + slipstreamed the SP1 update onto the installation.
So was the computer you built completely new? Specs? Any better description of errors?
