i was discussing this with my mum the other day.
i was wondering if it would be better to be an only child or to have siblings?
what do you think?

i suppose they both have their good and bad points.

Well, I was an only child for 5 years and I had fun then watching tv, playing with my toys, not sharing anything. But, then my sister was born and because she is my only sibling we are very close. The only bad thing is we get on each others nerves very easily and know how to provoke the other person. I actually wish we had one more sibling, I would have loved a little brother. But, my parents are too old now, lol.

I actually like it...even though it does seem pretty lonely and quiet at home with nobody except myself sometimes...
But now, I'm used to the alone feelings. So if all of a sudden I have a sibilings, I would hate it...

at first i thought being an only child would be great.

being alone, all alone in the quiet, but...it'd be really lonely growing up.

no one to play with. and playing video games got boring when u played by urself.

Only child here. Being an only child has its pros and cons. Pro:: I don't have to share and be annoyed. Although I like to share my things.. Con:: Sometimes I would feel like I'm alone so I wish i had someone else around to talk to, I also don't have as much freedom as people with siblings do.

I don't know, I don't see myself being a lonely child, but if I had been one, I'd probably say the oposite. Who knows. o.o

well i have older brothers and an older sister, but i grew up away from them because of family situations, so i went to live with my mom growing up...so i was basically the only kid in the house and i was lonely at first but then i got use to it, and made friends to replace the empty feelings...i would say i like being the only kid but then i'm glad that i have older siblings because when i need something i can always ask them for help...

I have 3 brothers and a sister and I think it's great to have siblings. Sure my sister feels lonely sometimes because she's the only girl, but we find ways around that to cheer her up.

We all listen to a variety of music from different countries, thanks to my sister.

An xbox360 can host up to 4 controllers... why? So I can play with my bros.

If you have more siblings, you're probably gonna have more birthday parties at your house.

It's more fun to open presents on Christmas day with my bros and sis.

Even if you don't have enough money to buy what you want, your siblings can pitch in what they've got and help you out.

Whenever someone breaks something or if we all get in trouble, me and siblings take turns being the scapegoat.

For me, being an only child would be too lonely and boring. Of course you'll be spoiled, but will you be happy?

I have an older brother but sometimes I feel like I'm the only child. He's 21... and doesn't do anything. Sadly my mom has even admitted to me that she forgets about him at times. haha. but i think it's just because he doesn't do anything for the family.. just holes himself up in his room and does whatever he wants.

I'm an only child and have thought at times it would be cool to have siblings, i wouldn't want then to be too much older or younger than me though, maybe a difference of about two to four years either way. I think i would prefer someone younger than me around the house for me to impart my knowledge/life experiences too though.

Being the only child is lonely at times, but after nearly two decades on this earth i've gotten used to it.

i AM a olny child , and i love it ^^ although it is stressful thinking that if you fail, your whole bloodline goes down the drain.

I have lots of cousins of all ages, big and small , we fight and yell at each other all the time so they stimulate the experience of having siblings

I have a crazy, weird, and a clumsy elder sister and a spoiled, greedy, and a lazy younger brother. But no matter how much I fight and quarrel with them, nothing seems right without them. Of course, there's more times that they don't understand me but I atleast thank them for listening to which kind of situation I am referring to. Sometimes, I imagine how it would be like if I was the only child.. but literally, I don't think there'll be anything all that great after all. I rather prefer being with lots of siblings because you'll never be lonely even though you might as well fight with them a lot. But it doesn't stimulate me. Sharing with others is better than being greedy for your own self, no?

I have a spoiled little brother and sister. My brother is so annoying and we fight punching and kicking eachother (we don't play nice). Just like this morning, I was playing with these gloves I found and he said he wanted it. I told him, "no" and he jumped and snatched it away from me. I chased him all the way and used my wrestling move on him and took it back. We laugh but he really do hit eachother hard. I say lots nasty things to him when I get angry though, ahaha.

My sister and I are like friends actually. We argue and fight alot, but we talk to eachother all day chit-chattering. Maybe it's because we're blood-related, but we seem to have alot of things in common and some what not. I love having my sister actually, I don't get lonely.

But sometimes, I do want to be the only child. I want to know how it feels like to be the only child, but I love my siblings because I don't have to be alone.
