There's probably already a topic like this, but I didnt see any specifically relating to the problem i'm having... soo.. any help would be greatly appriciated ^^
So I bought a new laptop recently, it's vista, and although im not a fan of vista it worked great. Anyways, I randomly decided to download yahoo messenger so i could talk to some of my friends who just have yahoo msg and not msn or anything... it took forever for the download to actually work, and I had to try it multiple times because it said something was already updating or something so it couldnt install. I dont know. So finally it was installed, and it worked fine. But- ever since then whenever I go onto my internet, the internet will work great, but as soon as i close it [any internet screen... pop-up, actual window, anything hosted by ie..] the whole internet freezes and it tells me there was an "error" and asks if i want to look for a solution to the problem and restart, or just restart. I honestly don't know what happened, or how to fix this problem. I ran a scan of my computer thinking maybe I had a virus or something that may somehow cause this to happen? But all the scans said nothing is wrong with the computer..
Anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this? It's extremely annoying to have to restart EVERYTHING i had open on the internet because i accidentally closed a popup >__<
Thanks in advance ^^

Install FireFox 3.0: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox
Use that instead of Internet Explorer 7.
You must have installed an application that integrates into Internet Explorer 7, most likely being an incompatible plug-in, it will crash it (like it does for you now).
Once you installed FireFox, un-install Yahoo Messenger and make sure you un-install everything related to it. Including the Yahoo Toolbar for Internet Explorer.
Re-install Yahoo Messenger, this time you must select customized option and deselect EVERYTHING other than Yahoo Messenger itself.
Yahoo is known to install unnecessary applications and bloatware if you do not deselect those options.

Start > Run... > type in: cmd
Type the following in order (press ENTER after each step):
1. cd c:\
2. mkdir download
3. cd download
4. ftp ftp.rz.tu-bs.de
5. Username: anonymous
6. Password: anonymous
7. cd pub/mirror/ftp.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0.1/win32/en-US/
8. binary
9. get "Firefox Setup 3.0.1.exe"
Then just wait until it's downloaded, it should say something like 226 File send OK.
ftp: 7499056 bytes received in 127.74Seconds 58.71Kbytes/sec., telling you it has completed downloading.
You can close that window now :]
Once downloaded, go to My Computer > c:\download and install Firefox.
That's all to it!
