So My question is how did you know or figure out what you wanted to be?? This question is for anybody, but is there anyone on soompi that just KNOWS what they want to be?? and how did you figure it out?? Like any monumental moment that changed your course in history? or just something you've always thought about being? Are there any tips on how to become more decisive about my future?? Thanks

Anyways, when I go back on Sept 24th, I will be a sophmore. I have switched majors about 4 times and thought about switching about 20 lol. But now I am sure, I want to go into fashion design. U could say I've always knew. When I was little, I loved everything about clothes and still do. My moms a seamstress and I've always watched her sew and do other things. Plus fashion is so exciting, competitive and [after deep thought] I'm willing to go for it. I'm lucky enough to have everyone around me support me =) && u should sit down and think about what do u enjoy doing and all that. There are also personality quizes and analysis to help u figure urself out.

Everything was already in front of my eyes, all I had to do was to think hard about it. But sometimes unless if our interest does not have an academic title, it is really hard to really know what we really want to do. Our society "require" us to have a university degree but the different faculties of the uni. do not represent the whole range of career (and interest) possibilities. Hence, I have so many friends who have changed major several times but are not yet sure of what they would really like to do. But at the same time, there is all those people that have studied in classics but end up working in some business company and they love it. Although you may not know right now what you really want, one day the opportunity will present itself. After that its probably all about grabbing it when it comes.
hehe I really hope you find your dream job ^^
hopefully in grad school I won't change idea either hehe

You really don't need to be in school much longer. If you're on track to graduate this year, you can just go ahead and do that, then figure out what it is you want for a career. Your major doesn't dictate what you can do with your life, and plenty of psych majors get jobs that have nothing to do with psychology. Unless you decide that you want to do something that's going to require a different major (and not that many things will), or that you absolutely cannot stand another second of psychology (assuming you still have classes or a thesis or something left to do), you might just want to go ahead and graduate this year.

Anyway, maybe you can seek a minor in something you are interested in. And are you totally sure you do not like psychology for sure? Isn't psychology pretty broad? Sorry, I don't know too much about it. Maybe you just need to find the area you like. Hopefully, you can resolve this issue and find out what feel rights for you

Thanks for the advice and that was such a great story! Looking at what your highest grades is a really good idea and its the best feeling to actually WANT to go class. You seem really passionate about East asian Hist so I doubt you'll change your major.

Wow,thanks ronmexico that really good advice and did think about that, I guess it just sounds more sensible coming from someone else. I am thinking about nursing for awhile and Idef need a specific degree for nursing (just my luck). I think I am going to focus on nursing for now. I am def gonna complete mypsych degree cuz Im so close but not right now since I am one of those people that cant focus on something if they have something esle on their mind ( One track mind??). You seemto really have your stuff together (i read some of your advice on the law school thread) so thanks a lot!!

Haha, well, I'm glad I could help, and I'm glad somebody thinks I have my stuff together. If you're thinking about nursing, have you considered getting an accelerated BSN after you finish your bachelors? Apparently it's just a one or two year program. I would assume you've fulfilled a lot of the prerequisites already, though you could check and see if you'd be able to take whatever you need before graduating. I don't know if you've looked into this at all, but this site seems to have a really good list of the schools that offer the degree: http://www.allnursingschools.com/featured/accelerated-bsn/
