Hi this is the first time I've started a weight loss journal anywhere.
I've tried losing weight but it gets harder as it goes on. Whenever i've seen things like chocolate or any kind of junk food, i want to eat it and my mom always buys those things. sad.gif

I really want to lose weight but it's hard with all those temptations and stuff.

Height: 5'3" or 5'4" (haven't measured myself in a long time)
weight: 123/125 (last time it was 123....not sure about now sad.gif)
BMI: 21.5
Goal Weight: 105 (is that underweight?)
Goal Date: Oct. 1, 2008

My mom's been trying to get me to lose weight until i'm 110 or something around that. It's kinda hard with school now since I'm taking pretty hard classes with alot of HW. (but i'll try and make time for exercising)

so here's my exercise schedule (plan):

Sunday: Morning run for around 1-2 hrs. Drink this weight loss tea (my mother bought it sometime this summer...not sure if it really works).
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: Run/Jog around the neighborhood for 30 min or go on the Ellipse for 1 hr. Breakfast: fruit, or cereal. Lunch: sandwich and 1 fruit with green tea or water
Wednesday: Breakfast: Fruit/cereal, Lunch: sandwich and a fruit. 1 and 1/2 hr. of Jazz
Friday: Run for 1-2 hr. around the neighborhood, Ellipse for 1 hr. food: same as other days
Saturday: Morning Run for 1-2 hrs. Weight loss tea. Eat fruits for lunch. 1 hr. Ellipse at night.

I also forgot to add 1hr and 45 min of Jazz at school every other day so sometimes it's 3 times a week and sometimes it's twice a week.

Rules/Restrictions
1. No more Chocolate/junk food
2. Eat healthier and stick to only 3 meals a day
3. when hungry drink water, tea, or eat 1 fruit
4. Drink only water, tea or milk
5. Resist temptation to no exercise or eat junk food
6. Actually follow through with this plan
7. Don't give up halfway

I hope that i can follow through with this plan this time....
Please support me!
also any other suggestions for my diet plan? I will update every saturday on how I'm doing.

This is random but I'm Canadian too!! But i'm living in Texas because of my dad's work.

yeah i tried losing weight this summer but i only lost around...3 pounds?? and i think i gained those 3 pounds back now...which is kinda sad. Now that school started, i really want to lose more weight before the Homecoming Dance.

My weight and height is same as yours! As is my goal!

Lets suffer together so we can be beautiful together!! If you keep it up, so will I!

It's going to be pretty hard to get all this by October..... But let's hang on!

The best (in my humble opinion) and most effective way to loose weight is to eat a high protein / low carb diet. Cut out simple carbs like white bread and your basic pasta; switch to whole-grain bread and whole grain pasta - they are more complex to break down and will keep you full longer. To start, I would just cut bread and pasta out all together. This is hard if you eat rice every day (which is the case with me whenever my parents come visit me) but you can just eat half a bowl instead of a whole bowl. Also, make sure you are drinking fat-free or skim milk instead of 2% or even whole milk.

You should consider breaking the traditional thinking of eating 3 meals a day and switch to a 5 to 6 small meal a day plan. For example, for breakfast you can eat a bowl of Kashi cereal w/ 5 almonds, a tbsp of flaxseed, and fat-free milk. Half way between breakfast and lunch, eat an apple or a handful of blueberries or whatever fruit that you like or a small bowl of oatmeal. At lunch, eat a chicken breast with steamed veggies. Half way between lunch and dinner, grab a piece of reduced fat string cheese or a 6 to 8 pieces of nuts. For dinner, you can either have an egg-white omelete with veggies or a piece of fish. You can mix and match and adjust accordingly - I'm a guy so I will need to eat more than you. The point of eating 5 to 6 small meals a day is to keep your metabolism up so your body is burning fat constantly. That's why is good to eat every 2 to 3 hours. An apple counts as a small meal. By dieting this way, not only is it healthy, but you will always feel full, thus taking temptations off sugary/fried snacks. Oh, by the way, stay away from sugar.

Remember, cravings is only temporary. Stock up on healthy foods at home, and if you feel like breaking down, eating a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts is better than eating a box of chocolate or a bag of potato chips. Don't be so hard on yourself; have a cheat day. This will allow you to focus on the other 6 days of the week by eating very healthy and knowing you can eat whatever bad food you have in mind on your cheat day. This will keep your diet plan going.

When going grocery shopping, try to buy only the following items: Almonds (and other nuts), beans (and other legumes), spinach (and other green vegetables), dairy, instant oatmeal, eggs (no egg yolk), turkey (and other lean meats), olive oil, whole grains (breads and cereals), and blueberries (and other berries).

Make sure you are burning more calories than what you are eating to make weight loss possible.

Lastly, don't forget to take a multi-vitamin with your breakfast. I take One a Day Men's Health Formula vitamin, so you should consider taking the women's version of it. You can find it here: http://www.oneaday.com/index.html

Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any questions.

TIP: cut out rice/bread/pasta (with Yoga everyday for 1-2 hours)

I lost roughly 15 pounds within a month from cutting those 3 out.

i dont think you should cut all the carbs out. or at least if you do that make sure you have another way of getting carbs. but yes.. it does help for weight loss if you eat less of them. yoga wont really make you lose fat... go swimming or running..

another thing is you dont have to completely cut out junk food. just have it in limitation.. like if you used to have chocolate everyday, just have half of what you usually have 2 times a week or something. sooner or later you will be tempted so might as well have a little every once in a while.

A better idea is to consume your fill of carbs in the morning,
and post workout. Just moniter your carbs there's no point in
taking them out. You need the energy for intense cardio.
