I am very aggravated with the way my bedroom looks.
I live at home with my family, because my school is close/far enough to commute..
I don't want to have that dorm/apt type look to my room.. but I want it to be somewhat of professional looking room/study.
Just a simple look with some modern pieces.

Pastel purple walls + grey carpet + two 5-6ft long windows, queen size bed with a cherry wood frame, cherry wood dresser, lighter color wood corner desk, bookshelf, small makeup desk, and a door leading to the attic, another leading to the bathroom/closet... and i have a large cream/white bookcase coming in, in half an hour.. someone is giving it to me.. and i really need it for all the books i have..

basically.. my room is a HOT MESS!!!!

Can anyone post pictures of rooms or post ANY ideas that I might be able to use??

I appreciate everyone's help in advance!

Thx! blush.gif

When in doubt, thumb through an IKEA catalog. Right there you've got your simplicity ... and, err... some sort of modern pieces of something or whatever.

Definitely check out IKEA catalogs or even go to their stores even! They have tons of showrooms and very affordable products!!
Love IKEA! <3

I totally just got a new room, my mum picked a light pink color for the wall...not quite my style but i got all this cool furniture from ikea.
it's really modern and all their furniture comes in different color and a variety of styles so you can pick stuff that's fit for you biggrin.gif

Shelves could be like this to make it simple.

If I have my own small condo, I really want to have my bed like this though... would save a lot of space this way.

These are particularly innovative bed design ideas.

But how trustworthy are they in weight bearing capacities?

Because seriously, being the chubby fellow that I am, I am fearful that the bed framework will collapse on top of the desk.

And then I would bring new meaning to the phrase "computer crash". unsure.gif

i'd be too tired to climb up onto my bed if my bed was that high.

damn some of those beds look hella heavy without the added weight of a human on it... imagine u just studying and the bed just falls on you... it's not that i'm not trusting the design i'm just not trusting the foundation of the walls that most houses are made from especially for students who stay off campus, all those houses are hecka old.

anyways, topic starter!

IKEA <3

and make sure you have a huge desk to study on! don't let the style supercede the practicality of your most important furnitures smile.gif

I've built myself one of those kinda beds in Afghanistan. Using 2x4's, 1/4" chains, sheet wood, and a matress, it turned out really sturdy. The best part about it, if you kinda have it in the middle.. You can swing yourself at night and it kinda turns into a giant cradle.. Very.. very.. comfy.. Though, those designs look really sturdy... compared to what I had.
