Stupid new comp comes with 64 bit w/e i dont even know what it is but it wont work for some of my games

How do i make vista load the disk?

I have gparted cd loaded and what not
then i loaded from disk

then it brings me to a screen only with the words
"grub> "
and it waits for me to type something

I typed
"grub> boot"

but it says
"kernel must be loaded"

im pretty sure thats the problem but i dont no what it is
