I'm starting Junior year too. Since my schedule this year is going to be intense I'm limiting my computer usage.
Go to an area away from your computer and study there. Only use the computer when needed, like typing up essays and such.
Just put your ipod away. Classical music helps though.

Try setting external influences to prevent you from being distracted. Aka Leech Block, turning off the comp, disconnecting the comp, disconnecting the internet. Not being at the computer.
Etc. etc.

I'm only going to be a sophomore this year, I don't think a lot of studying is going to be required, but for me, studying doesn't help at all.
The only thing that helps is listening to the teacher (for me), and maybe last minute peeks before the exams start. x[

Turn off your Ipod and computer. Put them away and just study. There's really no other way to stay focused than to be determined to stay focused.
It usually helps me study if I'm eating/have food in my stomach.
I tune out sometimes, too, and then I always have to snap myself out of it. Usually what I'll do is give myself a time limit because I can only study or do homework for x amount of time. If I give myself all the time in the world, I will take all the time in the world to finish, and not be able to accomplish anything else that I'd need to do that day. :/

Exactly what I do. XDD
I am the WORST and most extreme procrastinator. Trust me, I'm not proud of it at all!
I dread some of my classes so much that I just forget all about it and relax until right before the deadlines.
Like this summer...I can't believe myself. Put off APUSH reading (120 pages), Pride and Prejudice (read some), Physics work, and etc.

For me, somtimes I forget the long-term goal at hand. So I wrote a letter to myself and I posted it in a picture frame. I know, it's lame, but it works for me.
Just things that remind me to just not be lazy. Basically people don't want to study because of laziness.

i just use windows media player on my comp and create a playlist of NON english music
i prefer to listen to non english/ nonlyrical music so i don't try to pay attention to the lyrics
yeah.. and then i just turn off the comp screen & do homework
don't turn it back on until you're done
but every 1-2 hours you should take a little break
don't get too carried away on your break though.. like don't go on soompi or YT or something that's bound to capture your interest quickly and leave you stranded there
good luck (:

you should definitely go to the library, it really helps you stay focused. it actually worked for me (: really, i usually have the shortest attention span EVER when it comes to studying but when i go to the library i can study for about 4, 5 hours straight. good luck<3

Today, I went into a room without the computer. And it helped a bit. :]
But I admit, I always had the damn computer on my mind LOL.

-come back to school and sleep
-wake up around 2-4am
-start on hw
its a good time (2-4am) to do hw because almost everyone is asleep
so theres no one to talk to on aim/msn/fbchat/etc.
and ur family should be asleep too
so no one to bother you

if i keep on slacking off, then i'm bound to not get into a good college, or a college at all.
so since that thought scares me,
i just study more.

I have the same problem with music and the computer, I need music to concentrate, but, sometimes I start singing along with the lyrics and wanting to dance. xD So stick with soft music.
