So yes, school is back for everyone by now cept some Uni/College people.
But here's my problem. I've been sleeping at 6-7AM everyday for the past week or so and i'm used to it. Right now it's already 4AM and i'm waking up in 2 hours.
I tried to sleep early yesterday but that never happened. And I woke up at like 3PM everyday or 1PM the earliest.

Now I have no idea how to fix my sleeping schedule because when I get home from school tomorrow I will be dead tired and want to take a nap. But if I nap, that also means that I won't be able to sleep that night again cuz the nap will refresh me.

I can't think of a method that would be effective. Should I do a few things before I sleep to make me tired? I dunno..

Oh I have one more thing. How come sometimes when I sleep more than 8 hrs, my eyes still kind of sting with sleepiness? :/

I have that problem too. I think you should sleep when you think you will sleep, but get up even if you're sleepy (tell someone to call you), and then at night you will feel like sleepping for years ^^.

Pull an all nighter and sleep early the following night.

I know what that is like; i wish i had a better sleeping pattern. If i try to sleep early for school doctor's appt etc..I toss and turn all night, unless I'm sleeping with my girlfriend.

^ totally agree. works for me... and my sleeping habits aren't the best.
i dont really have a sleeping schedule anymore .__." i'm trying to fit in passing uni, working and teaching so most nights up i'm til 3am or pulling allnighters. This semester so far, i've already pulled about 7 allnighters =_=" So i sleep for HOURS if i have a day off.

With naps... put your alarm on. Don't nap for longer than i'd say 40mins. If you nap longer than an hour its more like a sleep so at night you won't be tired.

If you're up at 4am and you have to get up at 6am... i would just stay up :x get thru the day with HEAPS of caffeine and then hit the sack early that night and you'll be fine. Works for me most of the time. Oh and yeah.. i think the stinging eyes is quite normal for lack of sleep... my eyes sting and then go really watery for no reason some times.

=___= damn uni.

woah that was like my sleeping schedule during the summer
i would suggest just not taking that nap, break away from the cycle! biggrin.gif
unless you can really wake up in 1 hour or so
still sitting on a shelf and never,

and it feels like me, on a good day ♪

Wake up really early the day before, then you'll want to sleep early.
Then just stick to sleeping early.

Same problem.

There's two ways to fix this...maybe more but there's two for me.

1. DON'T drink ANY caffeine during the day, and that includes coffee, sugar, soft drinks, etc...
Don't do any exercises before going bed because it gives you a rush of adrenaline and you can't sleep with that kind of rush.
Shut off all electronics.
Cover any lights that may shine through your window [if you have a window] Your body needs complete darkness to sleep.
During the day try to fit in time to jog a little bit [to get you somewhat tired---but NEVER before going to sleep]

2. This is the EXTREME method...that means if you can afford to do it. WARNING!
You can pull an all-nighter. Try to do this on a day that you know you have nothing to do the next day and remember to NEVER drive when you're tired!!!!!!!!
Don't even sleep for a whole day, then when 9 o'clock at night comes around you can hop into bed and sleep[get everything ready before 9]. That should gradually re-adjust your sleeping methods....that's what I did when I was in Europe. Before I went on the plane I pulled an all-nighter so that when I got on it, I could just sleep the hours away. I also trekked around Europe the whole day so I mostly slept at around 9-10 at night max[I was exhausted!] and got up at 6am to go trekking again. And when I got back to the U.S., I started to automatically sleep at 9-10 and wake up at around 6 automatically without even my alarm clock! Amazed that I was.

Also, I heard that eating till your full makes you really sleepy...so if you can't find another solution...well, that's a way to get sleepier...but also causes weight gain. =[

If those don't work, try the all-nighter along with Choice #1 above.

That happens to me too. School is tomorrow so I force myself to stay up all night so I can have a good sleep without waking up. Only a few more hours before I can finally sleep

Forcibly stay awake through the next night, and then sleep early like 9-10pm. Then stick to around that time for sleeping ~ biggrin.gif

i have problems with my slping time too.
i cant slp anytime before 4am
i guess the most effective way is to just not slp for one day
and then the following day i will try to slp at 11pm .
