also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

The boost was capped at 12psi, because I'm running stock compression. The 3.2" is actually good for 15psi, and when it made the first power pull it hit 370rwhp. Not bad at all for stock cats and stock exhaust.

I just need to get a headgasket on there and I can max out the boost safety.

idk if that can be considered a mod laugh.gif

anyways nice s2k, but with all that money spent on power you should invest in suspension...

thats pretty ghetto and your car doesnt have struts, it has proper suspension

agreed, power is useless if the suspension and chasis isnt good.

Yeah, some of the stuff I just left in there from the previous owner's list. I just added the smaller pulley, ems w/ ect, injectors, fuel pump and rails, and got it tuned...twice actually.

My main concern was reliability on a road course, I didn't feel as if a vafc (that was on the car before) would cut it for road course, so I spent the extra money and bulked up the support mods and added a little power while I was at it.

I know all about the importance of suspension, but I'm also a big proponent of learning how the car behaves as is first. When I drove a stock s2000 on track, it was awesome even with crappy all seasons, so I saw big potential with just an alignment and better tires.

After I feel like I've maxed out the car's potential, I'll upgrade to some GC coils. Until then, I have no problem with the stock-ish/ghetto/whatever suspension. It forces me to smooth out my inputs anyway. The car handles pretty well, even on a technical circuit like my local one (we even have a karussell from the nurburgring replica, albeit slightly more banked than the real thing!).

I wouldn't knock struts! My BMW fared pretty well with the "inferior" suspension design. smile.gif

bah porsches have struts too, but that doesnt mean they are good. your s2000 has better suspension geometry than any porsche...

don't get gc coilovers get at least tein src's with swift springs 16/16 kg (if you want to run r-comps), get 255 f/r, and get a gt wing. the s2k in stock body makes lift...

Agreed on the 255 square setup and the GT wing, I was going to do those eventually.

If I were to go with coilovers better than the GC kit, I'd probably go with the new KW V3 Clubsport.

I'll probably just save up and make a final decision later anyway. JRZs would be nice.

kw are not stiff enough, the src's are faster

Stiffer isn't always faster. smile.gif ...especially on some of our east coast tracks. sad.gif

The V3 CS' are valved more aggressively than the regular V3s, and have a higher spring rate.

I won't get into why I wouldn't buy Tein dampers, not to say that the SRCs aren't good; but I just agree with KW's tuning philosophy more.

stiffer isnt always better, but the kw are not stiff enough. hell the club sports arent even stiff enough for the top of the line street tire, the hks hipermax III are better. i dont like the lower model teins myself, but the src's are a good coilover. trust me you will be faster with the src's than with the kw's. hell i'd get the src's and then get swift springs with 16/16 kg spring rates if you plan on running r-comps and downforce. i've talked to more than a few s2k drivers including rob who is the fastest west coast s2k time attack driver in street and modified class, and src's are the way to go. kw cs is too compromised, yes its stiffer than the v3 but only slightly so. currently im helping my friend set up his s2k. he just got src's, j's wing, 255 f/r, and is waiting for the swift springs. he's a good driver and puts down decent lap times with his s2k (staggered ra1's, tein flex, brake pads, straight pipe and exhaust) this new setup should be several seconds faster

but if you really plan on getting jrz's then by all means go for those

I've heard that you'd have to run a stiffer front swaybar to really get a good setup with the KWs. I know the SRCs can be fast, but I can't get over some of the Tein damper characteristics. But I'll try to get some seat time with s2ks running the SRCs, maybe that will help me make my decision.

I don't know, maybe I'll just do it right the first time and go with the Moton/JRZs. It's only $800 more than the SRCs. Guess I'll start saving up!

I have no clue what spring rate to run with those though. I'm lucky to have JRZ USA be pretty close to me, so I can just ask them.
